Accident on BR-386, in Carazinho, Involved Health Department Minibus and Truck, Resulting in Five Deaths.
An accident on the BR-386 resulted in five deaths and at least four injuries on Tuesday night (date of the incident), after a collision between a minibus and a truck on the stretch between Carazinho and Santo Antônio do Planalto, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The smaller vehicle, used for transporting the Health Department, was returning from Porto Alegre with patients who had undergone medical consultations when the impact occurred around 11:15 PM.
The causes of the tragedy are still under investigation by the authorities.

Collision on BR-386 Mobilizes Emergency Teams During the Night
The serious accident on BR-386, recorded in Carazinho, mobilized teams from the Fire Department, Federal Highway Police, and the General Institute of Forensics throughout the night.
The collision involved a minibus from the Health Department of the municipality of Constantina and a truck traveling on the federal highway.
According to information from the Federal Highway Police, the minibus was transporting patients who had received medical care in the state capital.
The return was delayed after an accident on the exit from Porto Alegre, which caused the vehicle to be on the highway at night.
Fatal Victims Were on the Health Department Minibus
All the deaths on the federal highway recorded in the incident involved occupants of the minibus. The victims are three men, one woman, and one child.
The Health Department of Constantina officially confirmed the identities:
Rodrigo Rodrigues Aguirre, driver, 42 years old
Jandir Riboli, 72 years old
Therezinha Letícia Anzilheiro Riboli, 78 years old
Fabiel Rivoli Largo, 39 years old
Larissa Pedroso Largo, 8 years old
Jandir and Therezinha were married. Fabiel and Larissa were father and daughter, which further increased the shock surrounding the accident on BR-386.
Trip Was for Medical Follow-Up in Porto Alegre
According to Franciel Largo, Fabiel’s brother and Larissa’s uncle, the girl had a health problem that required periodic follow-up in the capital.
“My niece had a health issue, and her father accompanied her every six months for treatment,” he reported.
In addition, Fabiel leaves behind a wife, a two-year-old daughter, and two brothers.
The family tragedy highlights the human impact caused by the collision between the minibus and the truck, which turned a medical care trip into a tragedy.
Injured Persons Were Trapped in the Wreckage After the Collision
Thus, in addition to the fatalities, others were injured in the accident on BR-386. Among them are passengers from the minibus and the truck driver.
All were trapped in the wreckage, and the Fire Department used specialized equipment to rescue the victims.
After the rescue, the injured were taken to the Hospital de Carazinho, where they received medical care.
So far, no official updates have been released regarding the health status of the hospitalized victims.
Highway Was Closed for Nearly Six Hours
Meanwhile, the stretch of BR-386 where the collision occurred in Carazinho, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, remained completely blocked for nearly six hours.
The closure was necessary for the rescue teams to work and for the General Institute of Forensics to perform a technical analysis of the location.
Moreover, drivers traveling through the area faced long traffic jams during the night until the partial reopening of the road.
Causes of the Accident on BR-386 Are Under Investigation
On the other hand, the authorities have not yet clarified the exact circumstances of the collision between the minibus and the truck.
The Federal Highway Police will investigate the causes of the accident and analyze factors such as road conditions, nighttime visibility, and the dynamics of the crash.
