The mystery didn’t last long. The Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2026 is already circulating around here — and with a refreshed look. The sport sedan, which underwent a redesign in Mexico, was spotted with light camouflage running in São Paulo, indicating that the official launch in Brazil is about to happen. Volkswagen’s promise is to have the model on the streets by 2025.
Even disguised, the new GLI revealed distinctive features of its new identity. And while on the outside it draws attention, inside and under the hood, it still speaks loudly with 231 hp and a 7-speed DSG transmission.
What Changes In The Visual Of The Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2026?
The facelift of the Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2026 brought a bolder look aligned with the brand’s new visual language. The LED headlights are now narrower, connected by a light bar over the front grille — something already seen in the Nivus, Taos, and Golf GTI MK8.5. The front bumper received a new, more aggressive air intake, with the traditional red sporty stripe running across the entire front.

The air vents have been redesigned with cleaner horizontal lines, and the instrument panel remains digital, in line with the latest models from the brand.

The Volkswagen Jetta GLI 2026 retains the well-known (and highly praised) 2.0 TSI turbo engine with 231 hp and 35.7 kgfm of torque, paired with the 7-speed dual-clutch DSG transmission. This set is the heart of the model’s sporty performance, which continues to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds — with enough breath to challenge even premium SUVs.

The new GLI is more than just a refreshed sedan. It is part of the trio that Volkswagen promised to revive the sportiness of the brand in Brazil. Alongside the Nivus GTS and the Golf GTI, the sedan reinforces the automaker’s bet on versions with a more aggressive look, higher performance, and track spirit — even in urban traffic.
Although still without a confirmed exact date, Volkswagen assures that the model will arrive in 2025, with high chances of appearing in the first half.
