New Volkswagen Saveiro Robust 2024 Arrives to Innovate in the Mid-Size Pickup Segment. The Model Delivers 116 Horsepower and Promises to Leave the Strada in the Dust.
The Saveiro is one of the best-selling mid-size pickups in the Brazilian market and remains available in the 2024 lineup in Robust, Trendline, and Extreme versions. The Volkswagen Saveiro Robust 2024 is geared towards work, with less aesthetic appeal; however, it still offers some essential comfort features.

The wheels of the new Volkswagen Saveiro Robust 2024 are made of steel and are 15” with 205/60 R15 tires, equipped with hubcaps that are an intermediary between hubcaps and alloy wheels. Its bumpers are not painted in the color of the vehicle, and the mirrors and door handles are always black, regardless of the body color.
The headlights have a black mask and the grilles are black piano, the absence of fog lights is disguised by a plastic cover. On the side of the pickup, there is the Robust inscription to identify the version of the Volkswagen Saveiro, along with a footstep to facilitate access to the cargo bed from the side. On the cargo bed cover, there is also the name Robust and the taillights have a modern design, reminiscent of those of the Polo, with less sophistication but still attractive.

The CD version includes a roll bar and rear window protection grille. Neither version of the Volkswagen Saveiro Robust 2024 comes with a standard radio or multimedia system, which is a downside; despite being a work vehicle, a basic radio with Bluetooth would be welcome, even though this is not different from rival pickups.
Volkswagen Saveiro Robust 2024 Delivers 116 Horsepower
The Saveiro is sold with a 1.6 16V engine producing 116 horsepower and 16.1 kgfm of torque on ethanol. It boasts a good performance of 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 s, with a top speed of 181 km/h.
The transmission is always a 5-speed manual with a precise shift characteristic of the German automaker. The cargo capacity of the CS pickup is 664 kg with 924L of cargo space, starting at R$ 98,670.
On the other hand, the Volkswagen Saveiro Robust 2024 CD starts at R$ 110,790, with a slightly reduced cargo capacity of 638 kg, but with a much smaller bed, with a capacity of 580 L. In this regard, the pickup still falls short compared to the Strada, which has a higher cargo capacity of 720 kg and 1354 L in the single cab.
Fuel consumption is 7.5 km/l in the city and 8.8 km/l on the highway while running on ethanol, whereas with gasoline, the consumption is 10.8 km/l and 12.4 km/l in the city and highway, respectively.

The interior is entirely constructed from hard plastic, very much in VW’s style, and the dashboard features a pleasant design, although not very luxurious. In the lower corner near the driver’s door, there is an inscription “Saveiro” that adds a personalized touch to the interior of the pickup.
The door handles, air vents, air conditioning controls, and the cluster pointers feature silver details reminiscent of chrome. Just below the air conditioning controls, there is a 12V outlet and a USB connector, which is solely for charging the phone.
