Costing just 46.335 euros in the European market, the SUV ID.4 promises to be Volkswagen's most complete car in Brazil

It seems that Volkswagen is ready to join the electric car fight in Brazil in 2025. At least, that's what the company's launch schedule indicates. Although it has not been confirmed which will be the new model, rumors suggest that the chosen one among the 15 launches will be the ID.4 – an electric SUV.

The SUV is a model that is still on the rise in sales and reinforces the possible preference for the ID.4. The electric car has appeared several times in Brazil since 2021, in tests and events, according to Auto Esporte.

SUV ID.4 may be Volkswagen's most complete car in Brazil

The ID.4 is an electric SUV that can take up to five people on board and uses the same platform as the Audi Q4 e-tron. It has an electric motor on the rear axle of 204 hp. Its battery has a capacity of 77 kWh and offers an estimated range of 520 km.. According to VW, the ID.4 goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 8,5 seconds and accelerates to 160 km/h (maximum speed is limited). Its measurements are: 4,58 m long, 2,77 m wheelbase, 1,85 m wide and 1,63 m high.

When it comes to standard equipment, the ID.4 has everything to be Volkswagen's most complete car in Brazil. Its feature list includes: adaptive cruise control, automatic braking, pedestrian and cyclist detection, traffic sign recognition, parking assistant, lane keeping, autopilot and heads-up display compatible with augmented reality.

And what about the price?

The ID.4 costs 46.335 euros in the European market, which corresponds to almost BRL 260 in direct conversion (without fees and taxes). However, it is difficult for Volkswagen to keep the final price of the electric SUV below BRL 300, which would put it almost in the same price range as the Volvo XC40 Recharge (BRL 329.990). As a comparison, the Chinese utility BYD Yuan Plus, with the same 204 hp, goes for R$ 269.990 today.
