The Multinational Company Wärtsilä Announced An Operating Contract With 3R Petroleum For The Activities Of FPSO P-63 In The Papa Terra Field. This Is Another Important Agreement For The Presence Of The Technology Company In The Brazilian Offshore Market.

At the beginning of this Wednesday (04/12), the multinational technology and innovation company Wärtsilä announced new directions for its activities in the Brazilian offshore market. It signed a contract for the operation of FPSO P-63, from 3R Petroleum, in the Papa Terra field region. In addition, it will carry out maintenance and oversight of activities over the next five years, according to another agreement signed with the national oil company.

Offshore Oil Company 3R Petroleum Invests In Technology And Operational Efficiency With New Contracts With The Multinational Wärtsilä For The Papa Terra Field

The technology company Wärtsilä, based in Finland, was selected to operate power modules aboard a Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading (FPSO) vessel from 3R Petroleum operating in the waters off Brazil.

Wärtsilä will operate the power modules aboard FPSO P-63, which is located in the offshore Papa Terra field in a water depth of 1,200 meters and is owned by the national oil company.

In addition, Wärtsilä has signed a five-year optimized maintenance contract with 3R Petroleum to ensure the reliability and performance of the installation.

The company emphasizes that its optimized maintenance agreements provide long-term cost predictability and asset availability with data-driven maintenance used at all stages, from planning to execution.

Humberto Romanus, Facilities Manager at 3R Petroleum, highlighted: “We are pleased to have Wärtsilä as a qualified and experienced partner in the operation and maintenance of this FPSO. We feel that they are clearly the most qualified company for this project and we look forward to working with them.”

Company Will Use Its Expertise In The Offshore Technology Market To Enhance Operations In The Papa Terra Field With FPSO P-63

The agreement with Wärtsilä is part of another investment by the oil company in the operational quality of its activities in the Papa Terra field.

The oil company acquired the field from Petrobras in December 2022. Wärtsilä had a previous agreement with Petrobras and FPSO P-63 has three power modules, each with two Wärtsilä 50DF dual-fuel engines.

Under the new contract, the Finnish company will continue to have a crew aboard operating the modules 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The contract with 3R Petroleum is an important step for Wärtsilä in its offshore energy market expansion strategy.

The company has a proven track record in the operation and maintenance of FPSOs around the world, and the contract with the national oil company further strengthens its position as a market leader.

With its extensive experience and knowledge in energy technology, Wärtsilä is well positioned to continue expanding its presence in this ever-evolving market.

Furthermore, it is demonstrating its commitment to providing reliable and efficient energy solutions for the Brazilian offshore oil and gas market.

The agreement for the operation and maintenance of the FPSO from 3R Petroleum in the Papa Terra Field is just another step taken for its expansion in the Brazilian market over the coming years.
