The Announcement of the New Distribution Center of the Company in the State of Espírito Santo
The announcement was made on Monday (07/26) by Governor Renato Casagrande in a tweet. The Governor of Espírito Santo stated that the Whirlpool project will be installed in a logistics condominium in the Porto Canoa neighborhood in Serra, in an area of 33,000 m².
The investment will be R$ 5.9 million and it is expected that 139 direct and indirect jobs will be created. According to the Secretary of State for Science, Technology, and Economic Development (Sectides), Tyago Hoffmann, the company was attracted through the active prospecting program, which aims to showcase the advantages of Espírito Santo to companies in Brazil and abroad. According to him, it was Espírito Santo’s logistical vocation that motivated Whirlpool’s arrival.

Possibility of a New Factory from the Multinational in the State
Hoffmann believes that in the future Whirlpool’s operation in the state of Espírito Santo could grow, potentially expanding beyond logistics. “We will discuss with them the establishment of a manufacturing unit here as well, investments in research and innovation in new products. We are starting a relationship, and if God wills, we will be able to grow this relationship in the future because it is very important for our development,” he assesses.

The company will also establish a new administrative center in the state capital. João Carlos Brega, President of Whirlpool in Latin America, says that the increase in capacity will generate approximately 3,000 jobs, both direct and indirect.
In addition to the two factories that will receive investments and create new jobs, the owner of Consul and Brastemp also has a unit in Manaus, in the state of Amazonas, and also has four technology centers and three distribution centers spread across Brazil.
