Wilhelmsen Opens New Offshore Positions in Rio de Janeiro for Onboard Work. Opportunity for Marine Cook and Officers. See the Requirements and How to Apply.

Wilhelmsen Ships Service, a global reference in the maritime sector, announced last Wednesday new offshore positions for professionals interested in working onboard. The opportunities are for operation in Rio de Janeiro, focusing on large vessels, including tankers and shuttle tankers. The company seeks to reinforce its crews with qualified and committed professionals, offering secure and competitive contracts in the shipping sector.

Wilhelmsen is one of the largest ship managers in the world, with a managed fleet exceeding 450 vessels and a team of over 13,000 active mariners. The new positions reinforce the company’s commitment to maintaining high standards of operation and safety, as well as opening doors for career development in the offshore sector.

Marine Cook: An Opportunity for Those Who Want to Combine Gastronomy and Life at Sea

Among the offshore positions opened by Wilhelmsen is that of marine cook, intended for professionals with prior experience in onboard kitchens and updated documentation. The cook will be responsible for preparing quality meals for the crew, ensuring the supply and organization of the kitchen in compliance with the sanitary and operational regulations required in the maritime environment.

The selected professional for this position will work on oil tankers, with immediate boarding and a 42×42 schedule, meaning 42 days onboard and 42 days off. It is required to have English language skills, which will be assessed during the selection process, as communication in different languages is essential in the international environment in which Wilhelmsen operates.

Positions for Nautical and Engineering Officers in the Offshore Sector

In addition to the cook position, Wilhelmsen is recruiting nautical and engineering officers to embark on shuttle tankers and oil tankers. The company offers competitive contracts and the possibility of growth in the maritime career, with technical and management support at a global level.

Candidates must possess the certifications required by the Brazilian Navy and other regulatory bodies, as well as experience in offshore operations. Proficiency in English will also be tested in the process, given the international nature of the operations and crews of the vessels managed by Wilhelmsen.

As with the cook position, the boarding schedule will be 42×42, with immediate start after approval in the selection process.

How to Apply for Offshore Positions at Wilhelmsen

Professionals interested in joining the Wilhelmsen team should send their updated resume to the official email address for the selection process:

At the time of application, it is essential to clearly state the desired position in the subject line of the email and ensure that all certifications and documents are up to date. The selection process aims to ensure that only candidates qualified to meet the rigorous requirements of the offshore sector progress to the next stages.
