Launch Of The New Honda Tornado XR 300L Brings A Robust Option To Compete With The Yamaha Lander And Promises To Conquer Brazilian Adventurers
After 15 years of absence, Honda relaunched the iconic Honda XR 300L Tornado, a motorcycle designed for off-road adventures. Recently presented at the Interlagos Festival, the new Tornado arrives in the Brazilian market with a starting price of R$ 27,690, ready to compete with the Yamaha XTZ 250 Lander. This return brings significant improvements, including a 300cc engine, which promises to make it a popular choice among off-road enthusiasts, according to the website G1.
Power And Performance: Comparative With The Competition
The new Honda Tornado XR 300L is equipped with a flex engine of 293.5 cm³, capable of generating 24.8 hp of power and 2.74 kgfm of torque. This upgrade is notable compared to the previous version, which had a 250 cc engine. In comparison, the Yamaha XTZ 250 Lander offers a 249 cm³ engine with 20.9 hp and 2.1 kgfm of torque, putting the Tornado ahead in terms of power. This advantage is crucial for those seeking a bike that can tackle challenging terrain more easily and safely.
Design And Functionalities
Visually, the Honda Tornado XR 300L retains the adventurous DNA that made it famous, with a design inspired by off-road competition bikes. The model features a raised fender, ideal for navigating muddy terrain, a flatter seat that facilitates riding on uneven surfaces, and a rear suspension adjustable in seven levels. These features enhance the Tornado’s ability to tackle trails effectively, making it a robust choice for adventurers.

The suspension of the Honda Tornado is one of the highlights, with 245 mm at the front and 227 mm at the rear, allowing for better impact absorption. In addition, the bike has bellows on the front suspension forks, which help to prevent dirt entry, protecting the system while riding on dirty terrain. The 21-inch wheels in the front and 18-inch wheels in the rear complete the package, offering enhanced stability and control.
Technologies And Safety: Modern Equipment
Honda has equipped the Honda Tornado XR 300L with modern technologies, including LED lights and a digital dashboard with gear indicator, fuel gauge, and onboard computer. Safety is enhanced with disc brakes on both wheels and a two-channel ABS system, allowing independent control of the front and rear brakes. This system is especially useful to prevent wheel lock during sudden braking, providing more safety for the rider.
An interesting detail is the positioning of the front brake hose, which runs over the dashboard. According to Honda, this design is to improve brake system efficiency in high-demand conditions, such as off-road trails, reducing the likelihood of bubble formation in the brake fluid.
