The plant is located in the heart of Paraíba, with a generation potential of 0.6GW. Additionally, the complex secured investments of R$ 3.5 billion to be put into operation.

Neoenergia, one of the largest electricity companies in the country, announced this week the inauguration of a new renewable energy complex in Brazil.

The Neoenergia Renewable Complex, located in the heart of Paraíba, is a pioneering project that integrates wind and solar energy generation from Neoenergia Chafariz and Neoenergia Luzia, respectively.

The company invested R$ 3.5 billion to make this pioneering initiative one of the largest in the renewable market.

The plant has an installed capacity of 0.6 GW, thus being capable of supplying approximately 1.3 million homes per year.

The project stands out for the synergy between the production systems of wind and solar energies with the transmission line and the substation, optimizing the use of the transmission network based on the complementarity of the sources.

Neoenergia is a company that has as one of its main objectives the diversification of its energy matrix through the use of renewable sources.

With the Renewable Complex, the company reaches the mark of 90% of installed capacity in clean energy. Thus, it reinforces its commitment to the development of the Brazilian energy sector in an innovative, efficient, and sustainable manner.

The CEO of Neoenergia, Eduardo Capelastegui, highlighted the contribution of both national and international scenarios in the development of the project.

“We believe that the promising path towards a more economical and sustainable future points to energy generation from renewable sources integrated through smart grids. We are prepared to serve Brazilians with reliability and security, considering the growing demand from the free market,” Capelastegui stated.

Neoenergia not only reinforced its commitment to national sustainability but also enhanced the technology of its operations.

The Executive Director of Renewables, Laura Porto, emphasized that the combination of wind and solar energies into a single plant is a new regulatory concept in the national market.

The project installed in the heart of Paraíba was approved by Aneel back in 2022, being pioneering in the segment.

The company’s strategy is not only to take advantage of the high production potential of the region but also to optimize the entire chain by uniting both renewable energies.

In this way, the generation park and the transmission line inaugurate a new model of energy generation, prioritizing cost reduction, sustainability, and energy security.

With the new renewable complex project in Paraíba, Neoenergia is increasingly investing in solar and wind energies in the Brazilian market.
