The new Mijia washing machine from Xiaomi has an ultra-thin design of 516 mm that allows for built-in installation in cabinets, integration with smart home via app and voice assistant, Direct Drive motor of 1,500W, and a launch price equivalent to R$ 902 in China
The Xiaomi has just launched a Mijia washing machine with a capacity of 10 kilograms that solves a problem any apartment dweller knows: space. The ultra-thin design of 516 mm allows the machine to be installed completely built into standard 600 mm cabinets, leaving only a gap of 15 mm between surfaces, which means it practically disappears into the furniture.
But it’s not just about size. The Mijia washing machine connects to the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem via HyperConnect, can be controlled through the Mijia app or voice commands, and has a Direct Drive motor of 1,500W with 1,200 rotations per minute. The launch price in China is 1,199 yuan, equivalent to about R$ 902, although there is still no official forecast for sales in Brazil.
Ultra-thin design of 516 mm that disappears inside the cabinet
The main differentiator of the new Mijia washing machine is its body. With only 516 mm in depth, the ultra-thin design allows the machine to be installed completely built into cabinets with a standard of 600 mm, something that conventional washing machines simply cannot do due to larger dimensions.

The finish is completely flat, and the 15 mm gap between the machine and the surfaces of the furniture prevents dust and dirt accumulation at the joints.
For those living in compact apartments or wanting a laundry area integrated into the kitchen without the machine being visible, Xiaomi’s ultra-thin design elegantly solves the problem.
The physical interface combines a rotary button with an integrated display for manual operation, keeping the clean look even when the machine is exposed.
Smart home: control via mobile and automation with other Xiaomi devices
The Mijia washing machine does not operate in isolation. It integrates into the Xiaomi smart home ecosystem through HyperConnect, allowing you to control the wash via the Mijia app on your mobile or through voice commands using the Xiao AI assistant.
The most interesting detail is the ability to create home automation scenarios.
At the end of the wash cycle, the machine can automatically activate a smart drying rack that belongs to the same smart home network, for example.
For those who already have other Xiaomi devices at home, such as robot vacuums, lamps, or sensors, the Mijia washing machine fits into the automated routine effortlessly. It’s the kind of connectivity that transforms a common appliance into a part of a system.
Direct Drive motor of 1,500W with 1,200 rotations per minute
The mechanical part of the Mijia washing machine has not lagged behind in terms of design and connectivity.
The Direct Drive motor offers 1,500W of nominal power and reaches 1,200 rotations per minute during spinning, ensuring drier clothes at the end of the cycle and reducing natural drying time.
The inner cylinder has a wide diameter of 525 mm for ample movement of clothes, and Xiaomi has implemented a 3D water flow with a detergent pre-mixing window.
This combination focuses on deep stain removal while keeping the minimum possible chemical residue on clothes.
The Direct Drive motor also contributes to silence during nighttime operation, supported by a six-dimensional shock absorption system and seven-layer noise reduction.
24 wash programs and three-layer cleaning system
The Mijia washing machine offers 24 wash programs for different fabrics and is capable of handling 35 distinct types of stains.
For a 10-kilogram machine with an ultra-thin design, this variety of programs shows that Xiaomi did not sacrifice functionality for the sake of compact size.
The drum cleaning system is another point that deserves attention. The cleaning works in three layers with different temperatures: warm water at 60°C, hot water at 95°C, and steam sterilization, keeping the inside of the machine free from fungi and bacteria.
The door seal features antibacterial nano material that ensures 99.9% protection against microorganisms. Xiaomi also offers a full three-year warranty for the product and a ten-year coverage specifically for the Direct Drive motor.
Less than R$ 910 in China, but no forecast for Brazil
The launch price of the Mijia washing machine was set at 1,199 yuan, equivalent to about R$ 902 in direct conversion.
It’s an impressive price for a 10-kilogram machine with an ultra-thin design, Direct Drive motor, smart home integration, and 24 wash programs, but it’s important to consider that this price applies to the Chinese market.
There is no official forecast from Xiaomi for the start of sales in Brazil, and if the product arrives in the country, the final price would be significantly higher due to taxes and logistics.
Still, the launch shows the direction Xiaomi is taking in home appliances: compact, connected machines with cutting-edge technology at prices that pressure the competition. If the brand decides to bring the Mijia washing machine here, the Brazilian washing machine market will feel it.
