Xiaomi continues to expand its smart home ecosystem with the launch of the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro, the first of the new generation Door Lock 4. The device was officially announced in China and is part of the brand’s growing portfolio of smart solutions — which already includes air purifiers, temperature-adjustable faucets, surveillance cameras, and even alternatives to the Alexa assistant.
The new lock from Xiaomi stands out for uniting modern design, cutting-edge security technologies, and flexible use, making it an attractive option for both those living in a smart home and those looking to start automating their residence with a focus on protection and convenience.
Up to 12 Unlocking Methods — Including Vein Recognition
One of the biggest differentiators of the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro is the diversity of authentication options. Xiaomi’s smart lock offers up to 12 different unlocking methods, which go far beyond the traditional numeric password or fingerprint reading. Among the most advanced methods are:

Surveillance Camera and Integrated Artificial Intelligence
Also considering surveillance, the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro features a “digital peephole” attached to the door. It is a built-in 2-megapixel camera, with a 152-degree field of view, capable of monitoring the entire external area with great clarity.
This system is complemented by a 24 GHz millimeter-wave radar and an AI for human presence detection, which sends alerts whenever someone lingers too long in front of the door. The idea is to prevent suspicious situations and increase real-time protection.
On the inside of the door, there is also a display that automatically lights up when the doorbell is pressed, making it easier to see who is outside — even in poorly lit environments.
Anti-Theft System with Alerts and Silent Automatic Lock
Physical security was also a priority in the design. Xiaomi implemented automatic and silent door closing, which prevents forgetfulness and ensures peace of mind. In case of attempted break-ins, repeated authentication failures, or unusual movements, the lock emits audible alerts and can notify the resident through connected devices.
This multifunctional approach reinforces the brand’s commitment to providing active and intelligent security without compromising user comfort.
Long Battery Life and Emergency Alternatives
The Xiaomi smart lock is equipped with a main 5,000 mAh battery, enough to keep the system running for about four months with normal use. To extend autonomy, the model also accepts four AA batteries, which can extend operation for up to six months.
Even in the event of a complete power failure, the Smart Door Lock 4 Pro has internal and external USB-C ports, allowing the use of a power bank as an emergency power source — something essential to prevent system lock-up during critical moments.
Revamped Design and Integration with the Xiaomi Ecosystem
Compared to the previous generation, the new lock features visual changes and functional improvements. The design is cleaner and more modern, and the internal interface offers better usability and real-time visualization. The integration with the Xiaomi ecosystem is another strong point: users can connect the lock to smartphones, smartwatches, cameras, speakers, and sensors from the brand.
Additionally, the lock can be managed directly through the Mi Home app, allowing remote monitoring, temporary access authorization, history of openings, and much more.
Price and Availability of Xiaomi’s Smart Lock
The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 4 Pro was officially launched in China on August 15, at a suggested price of 2,499 yuan, equivalent to about R$ 1,913 in direct conversion (excluding taxes).
For now, there is no forecast for international launch or arrival in the Brazilian market. However, considering the growing interest in home automation solutions, it is possible that the model will be made available in the future through importers or partner retailers.
