Xiaomi announced its new electric scooter that can hit the market for R$ 1.600. The Chinese scooter promises speeds of up to 20 km / h with 18 km of autonomy.

Xiaomi has established itself in the smartphone industry in recent years, and now it has also gained ground in the smartphone niche. electric mobility. The latest news from the Asian giant for the sector is the Electric Scooter 4 Go, an electric scooter to ride around the city without spending a lot.

Xiaomi scooter can reach up to 20 km / h

The Xiaomi 4 Go is powered by an electric motor mounted on the front hub with a rated power of 250 watts. Peak power is 450 W, enabling the electric scooter to reach up to 20 km/h. As with Xiaomi's premium models, the 4 Pro, 4 Ultra and 4 Lite, the driver can switch between three driving modes: pedestrian, sport and standard.

As for the battery, the automaker opted for a more modest 165 watt-hour component, which in addition to being cheaper makes the vehicle lighter. Although the Xiaomi scooter battery is smaller, the range estimated by Xiaomi is approximately 18 km per charge.

As a comparison, the top-of-the-line model, the Xiaomi 4s, has about 20 km of autonomy. The good mark is achieved due to the weight of only 13,7 kg. The Xiaomi 4 Go, despite being a simpler version of its more expensive brothers, still offers technologies such as Bluetooth and compatibility with the Mi Home application.

The lightest and most affordable model in the brand's scooter range will soon arrive in Europe. Xiaomi scooter prices may vary in other markets. In the Old Continent, the scooter will be sold with a suggested price of 299 euros, around R$ 1570 at the current price.

Difficulties in adopting electric scooters in large cities

For now, there are still no plans to launch Xiaomi's electric scooter in Brazil. The only electric scooter officially sold in the country by the company is the Essential, which costs R$5 with a discount for paying in cash.

It is important to emphasize that this type of vehicle has taken over the sidewalks of the main capitals of the world. Whether for the practicality of getting around, or for pure entertainment, this means of sharing trips remains common, even though it is no longer new in most cities.

Despite the proposal of this means of transport being very well seen in several places, such as the 158 cities in the USA that have adopted e-scooters as a ride-sharing system, other regions apply measures to extract this transport. Also in the US, the cities of New Orleans and Las Vegas have implemented strict measures against sharing electric scooters.

Models with cutting-edge technology arrive on the electric scooter market

In addition to Xiaomi, ZonDoo, well known in the market for producing scooters electric, recently launched its RoadHitter model, the fastest in its catalog and, basically, one of the fastest sold on the market.

The electric scooter can reach a speed of almost 110 km/h and looks really radical, giving priority to maximum adrenaline. The model has 3 driving modes through which the pilot can switch, the modes that gain more prominence are the dual engine and eco, accessible through a button near the right thumb.

Another point worth mentioning is the great autonomy of the electric scooter from ZonDoo which can go from 110 km to 130 km on just a single charge. That should be enough to make several trips before leaving it on the charger for 6 or 8 hours. The battery-powered vehicle has two 4 W motors, and while ZonDoo indicates the vehicle can reach 110 km/h, in the real world, this can be a bit unstable.
