It’s no coincidence that the Toyota Hilux has been the sales leader in the segment for so many years. Its reputation for being “unbreakable” is reflected in the used market, where it continues to be one of the most sought-after and valued pickups. The 7th generation, especially the models manufactured between 2012 and 2015, is an example of durability.

  • Why is it a good choice? The 3.0 turbo diesel engine with 171 hp is one of the most reliable ever produced, known for its longevity and maintenance without surprises. Coupled with 4×4 traction, it is a pickup that can face any challenge. It is the ideal choice for those prioritizing robustness and peace of mind when reselling.
  • Average Price (Hilux SR 3.0 4×4 2012): Around R$ 85,000.

2. Ford Ranger (2nd Generation)

The Ford Ranger, in its generation launched in 2012, raised the standard of comfort and technology in the midsize pickup segment. With generous dimensions and a smoother ride, it stands out for being more comfortable than its competitors from the same period, without compromising strength.

  • Why is it a good choice? The powerful 3.2 5-cylinder turbo diesel engine with 200 hp and 47.9 kgfm of torque offers superior performance. Although the maintenance is a bit more expensive than the Hilux, the Ranger is not a problematic vehicle and delivers a more complete package of equipment and a ride comfort similar to that of an SUV.
  • Average Price (Ranger XLT 3.2 4×4 2013): Around R$ 82,000.
