UFJF Exchange Program Announcement Offers Opportunities in 16 Countries for Undergraduate Students
The Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF) has just announced the announcement of the Undergraduate Exchange Program (Piigrad) for 2025. A total of 158 spots will be offered at 72 institutions in 16 countries, with applications open until November 19 through the Siga portal. UFJF has also launched two e-books with accounts from exchange students, providing a detailed overview of the experiences related to UFJF’s exchange program and studying abroad.
UFJF students, who are regularly enrolled and have completed at least 20% of their course workload, may participate in the process. The minimum requirement is an Academic Performance Index (IRA) of 60. Therefore, interested parties must meet the specific requirements set by the chosen foreign institution and provide a certificate of proficiency in a foreign language, with a minimum level of B1, in English, French, Spanish, Italian, or German. It is important to note that this requirement does not apply to candidates choosing Portugal, but other universities may require a proficiency level higher than B1, according to the announcement.
An Opportunity to Enrich Your Resume and Experience New Cultures
The UFJF Exchange Program aims to provide students with the chance to expand their academic and cultural knowledge. Experiencing education in another country is not only a way to enhance professional training but also to immerse oneself in new realities and improve linguistic and social skills. With this initiative, UFJF reinforces its commitment to broadening the reach of its students, allowing them to develop a more comprehensive and global understanding of knowledge.

To support this journey, UFJF has launched two e-books filled with accounts from students who have already participated in the program, detailing their experiences abroad and the challenges they faced.

How the Selection Process Works
The selection for the exchange is divided into two stages. The first phase, which is eliminatory and classificatory, is based on the analysis of academic performance and the proof of proficiency in the language required by the chosen course. In this phase, the maximum score is 100 points.
The second stage is the responsibility of the partner foreign institutions, which have the obligation to accept or not the applications of students approved in the first stage. In this case, the result does not depend only on the academic performance and documentation of the student but also on the available spots and the specific criteria of each institution.
The announcement of the overall result is scheduled for November 29, while the final result of the first phase will be published on December 10. The appointment of applications, part of the second selection phase, will follow the specific calendar of the partner institutions.
Where to Apply for the UFJF Exchange
Applications are now open and can be made directly on the Siga portal until November 19. The application system is practical and intuitive, allowing candidates to choose the institution and course of their interest, as well as submit the documentation required by the announcement.
