Wind Farm in Rio Grande do Norte to Be Built by Allonda, Which Is Already Hiring and Generating Jobs in the Region

2W Energia, one of the main renewable energy platforms in the country, starts the mobilization of the construction works of the Anemus Wind Complex. The construction of the complex, which will have three parks, will be developed by Allonda, a company focused on sustainable solutions. Currently, engineering and planning works are in development, along with preparation of the construction site and hiring of personnel. It is estimated that there will be 2000 job openings at the peak of construction!

Located in the municipalities of Currais Novos and São Vicente in Rio Grande do Norte, the complex will be a plant for generating clean and renewable energy, with 138.6 MW of installed capacity. The energy generated will be primarily targeted at customers of the retail division of 2W, which consists of small and medium-sized businesses looking to migrate to the free energy market.

Anemus Wind Complex Will Have 33 Wind Turbines

The Anemus complex will have 33 wind turbines with a rated power of 4.2 MW each. The CEO of 2W Energia, Claudio Ribeiro, explains that these are resources with strong generation that match the local characteristics. “We selected this model of wind turbines for better utilization of the area’s wind resources; the rotor diameter will be 147 meters, and the tower height will be 125 meters above the ground,” he explains.

Responsible for the civil aspects of the construction, Allonda emphasizes that the importance of the project goes beyond economic issues, having a strong positive socio-environmental impact. “The capacity to generate clean and sustainable energy from the three parks will be equivalent to the energy supply of 360,000 households, avoiding the emission of over 260,000 tons of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year,” states Leo Cesar Melo, the company’s CEO.

To secure the total investments for the Anemus wind complex, 2W issued R$ 475 million in green debentures. The operation, certified as a “Green Bond,” is a landmark for the energy sector, as it is exclusively enabled by a portfolio of energy sale contracts for small and medium Brazilian companies in the Free Energy Contracting Environment. With the issuance of the debentures, the Anemus wind farm completes the financial structuring of the resources for its construction.

Over 2000 Job Openings Will Be Created for the Construction of Wind Farms in Rio Grande do Norte

In total, the complex is expected to generate around 2000 jobs. The commencement of energy generation at the Anemus Wind Complex is scheduled for the second half of 2022. Brazil already has more than 720 wind farms with approximately 8,550 wind turbines.
