The General Course Index of IFCE currently (2017) is 3, and the Institutional Concept (2018) is 5.[4][3] Recent evaluations by the Ministry of Education indicate improvements in the indicators of the National System for Higher Education Evaluation – Sinaes, including course evaluations, institutional evaluations, and the National Student Performance Exam.
Recent evaluations resulted in several scores of 4 and 5 in courses and a score of 5 (the highest score) for the Sobral Campus, recognized as an excellence campus for IFCE. In 2009, the Institute ranked in the National High School Exam (ENEM) as the best in Ceará in the 148th position in Brazil.
