The Focus Of The Agreement Between Spanish Bank Santander And Italian Energy Company ENEL Is To Find Solutions That Can Accelerate The Transition To Clean Energy
Banco Santander and Enel made an announcement last Wednesday (9) about the world’s first agreement to support customers worldwide concerning the transition to clean energy process. Through the signing of a memorandum of understanding – or MoU, as it’s known in English – all groups in Europe committed to providing and financing energy efficiency solutions to customers globally. The agreement values have not yet been disclosed.

Spanish Bank And Italian Energy Company Join Forces In Global Agreement To Assist In The Transition To Clean Energy Worldwide
Through its specialized business line focused on providing advanced services in energy generation and distribution, Enel will be responsible for delivering customized solutions, while Banco Santander will handle the analysis and granting of financing.
According to the statement issued on Wednesday in Spain, the union between the Italian energy company and the Spanish bank aims primarily to assist in accelerating the process of transitioning to clean energy, helping clients with more sustainable solutions and better energy consumption optimization.

Enel Comments On Agreement With Banco Santander
According to Enel, this commitment with Banco Santander for the benefit of society represents another step towards achieving a social environment that is “net zero,” meaning that it has net greenhouse gas emissions fully at zero, doing everything the right way.
According to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Italian energy company Enel, LAlberto De Paoli, the central focus of the agreement with Banco Santander is to seek sustainability in a business choice through innovation.
In a press release, the senior executive vice president of Banco Santander and global head of Corporate & Investment Banking, José M Linares, reported that they are very committed to accelerating this process for clean energy, as they are considered pioneers in financing renewable energy projects around the world.
Brazil Is Also Seeking Sustainable Solutions To Accelerate Energy Transition
The announcement about the agreement came the day after Banco Santander announced at its headquarters in Spain the acquisition of 80% of the Brazilian company WayCarbon, a leading consultancy in best environmental, social, and corporate governance practices (ESG).
Here in Brazil, the goal is also to support clients worldwide in developing more sustainable business strategies suitable for the current scenario, where various companies globally have sought to make this transition to clean energy, opting for renewable sources as a way to help the environment.
