The ranking of best-selling sedans in Brazil in 2025, with data consolidated until April 30, confirms the leadership of the Chevrolet Onix Plus, which remains the preferred model for Brazilians in the segment. In April, the General Motors sedan registered 4,274 units sold, surpassing its main competitors and also securing the first place in the year-to-date total, with 14,141 units sold.
The list reinforces the strength of compact and midsize sedans in the national market, showing that, despite the growth of SUVs, models like Onix Plus, Toyota Corolla, and Volkswagen Virtus still have strong appeal among consumers seeking comfort, interior space, and good performance in daily use. The leader of the ranking, consisting of Onix Plus, Corolla, and Virtus, has prices ranging from R$ 105,490 to R$ 134,890. The sedan comes with 1.0 naturally aspirated engines of up to 82 horsepower always paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a 1.0 turbo engine of 121 horsepower with a six-speed automatic transmission.
The base version includes six airbags, air conditioning, audible and visual seatbelt warnings, hill-start assist, height-adjustable driver’s seat, among others. In terms of connectivity, it features Bluetooth, 8-inch MyLink multimedia center with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a reverse camera.
The version also has 15-inch steel wheels with covers, OnStar, smartphone screen projection without a cable, and onboard wi-fi for up to 7 devices. This version achieves 9.3 km/l in the city and 11.8 km/l on the highway with ethanol. With gasoline, the model achieves 13.5 km/l and 17.4 km/l, respectively.

The list, composed of Onix Plus, Corolla, and Virtus, shows that in April, 22,521 units of models from the five categories were registered, 7.7% less than a year ago (24,399). In comparison with March (20,416), there was an evolution of just under 10%. The segment accounted for 11.4% of the 197,076 vehicles registered in the country.
In second place for the month is the Hyundai HB20S, with 4,172 units sold. However, in the year-to-date total until the end of April, the Hyundai sedan accounted for over 8,000 units, occupying the fifth position in the annual ranking. The Toyota Corolla holds the third position in April sales, with 3,202 units sold. In the annual total, the model totals 12,160 units, securing the second position in the ranking.
Having been number 1 in February, the VW Virtus dropped one position in relation to the last ranking, finishing in fourth place for the month with 2,852 units. In the year-to-date total, the model occupies the 3rd position, with 10,137 units sold. To complete the top 5, we have the Fiat Cronos, which registered 2,116 units sold in the month. In the annual total, the Fiat vehicle sums up to 9,956 units, reaching fourth place.
The Sedan Market Is Growing More And More In Brazil
Reaching the second position of best-selling sedan in Brazil for the year, the Toyota Corolla 2025 underwent an update in the 2.0 naturally aspirated flex engine still in 2024. The engine delivers up to 175 horsepower with ethanol and 167 horsepower with gasoline, with 21.3 kgfm of torque for both fuels.
