Aneel Authorizes Operation of Wind and Solar Plants in Various States, Boosting Renewable Generation in Brazil. Casa dos Ventos and Other Companies Begin Testing and Commercial Operations.

The Brazilian energy matrix gained momentum with new releases for wind and solar energy projects in different regions of the country. The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) authorized a set of plants to start testing and commercial operations, reinforcing the movement towards diversification and modernization of renewable generation.

As a result, companies like Casa dos Ventos, PowerChina, and Merx Energia are expanding their participation in an increasingly strategic market for the national energy transition.

Casa dos Ventos Receives Approval for Solar and Wind Projects

Among the main authorizations is the release for Casa dos Ventos to begin testing the photovoltaic plant Fótons de Santa Larissa 4, which has a capacity of 50 MW. The project is located between Morro do Chapéu and Várzea Nova, in Bahia, and its dispatch was published in the Federal Official Gazette on Tuesday, November 25.

In addition, the company also received permission to test units of the wind Ventos de São Rafael. UG1 of Ventos de São Rafael 6, with 4.5 MW, will begin experimental operation in the municipalities of Lajes Pintadas and São Tomé, in Rio Grande do Norte. In the same state, UG12 of Ventos de São Rafael 9, also with 4.5 MW, was cleared to begin testing.

Solar Energy Advances in Ceará with Commercial Operation Approved

At the same time, Aneel authorized the start of commercial operation of units 1 to 33 of UFV Mauriti 9, which has 9.8 MW and belongs to PowerChina. Located in Milagres, Ceará, the plant is part of the Mauriti Complex, which recently had its physical guarantee defined by the National Secretariat for Energy Transition and Planning of the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

The value established for Mauriti 9 was 3.1 average MW, reinforcing the importance of the project in the renewable supply of the national electrical system.

Distributed Mini-Generation Receives New Authorizations

The distributed mini-generation segment also recorded advances. BID Service was authorized to begin testing of UFV Usina Marció, with 0.62 MW, located in Xanxerê, Santa Catarina. In the Northeast region, Kroma Energy Trader received approval to start testing operations of UFV Acomais, with 0.42 MW, installed in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Pernambuco.

In addition to these, UFV Elimari Regio I, from Merx Energia, was cleared for commercial operation with 0.3 MW in Rio Grande do Norte. In Bahia, Trifase Energia started testing UFV Ferreira Costa Paralela, with 0.6 MW, increasing solar presence in the state. The company Produção de Peças Ltda (Usipart) also received authorization to operate UFV Usipart, with 0.15 MW, also located in Xanxerê.
