After Gasoline Price Increase, Which Is An Average Of R$ 7, Brazil Now Has One Of The Most Expensive Gasolines In The World According To A Ranking Prepared By Global Petrol Prices With 169 Places.
Gasoline is becoming increasingly expensive in Brazil, and consumers are suffering from the high cost of fuel when filling up their vehicles, with many even opting for other means of transportation to save money. The fuel in the country is priced well above the global average; however, despite the high gasoline prices, Brazil is still a bit far from being the country with the most expensive gasoline in the world. The leader of this ranking, with the most expensive gasoline in the world, is Hong Kong, a special administrative region of China, according to the analysis by Global Petrol Prices.
Fuel Has An Average Above R$ 7 Reais In Brazil
In Hong Kong, located in southeastern China, the most expensive gasoline in the world is valued at an average of US$ 2.874, which currently equates to R$ 13.29 when converted to Brazilian currency. Meanwhile, in the rest of China, gasoline costs an average of US$ 1.473. Considering that the average price for expensive gasoline is around US$ 1.552, Brazil ranks 52nd in the ranking among the 169 places surveyed by Global Petrol Prices.
According to the latest data released by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP), the average price of gasoline in Brazil is R$ 7.219, which corresponds to US$ 1.561 at current exchange rates. However, this difference does not change the country’s position in the ranking of countries with the most expensive gasoline in the world.

Broadly speaking, the wealthier and more developed countries have higher gasoline prices compared to less developed countries that practice lower prices. However, there are two countries that deviate from this “rule.”
The first is the United States, which, despite being a developed nation, has a lower gasoline price, and the other is the Central African Republic, which has one of the lowest Human Development Indexes (HDIs) in the world and placed second in the ranking of countries with expensive gasoline.

Search For Type A Driver’s License Grows After Gasoline Price Increase
With gasoline prices at their highest, the demand for motorcycle driver’s licenses (CNH) has increased, considering that motorcycles are already favored by many drivers who plan to maneuver through traffic and travel more quickly.
The significant increase in applications for Type A Driver’s Licenses was confirmed by the São Paulo State Traffic Department (Detran-SP), showing a percentage increase of 65%. According to the agency, the number of first-time licenses issued in this category in March alone was 64.7% higher compared to February. Due to the gasoline price rise, there were 2,002 motorcycle licenses issued in March, compared to 1,214 in February.
