Brazilians presented QDiesel Verde, a new category of renewable fuel that caught the attention of several investors.
This Thursday (18th) Brazilians presented a new renewable fuel technology, the green diesel based on ethanol, which promises to replace fossil diesel. The technology was presented at the Fenasucro fair, in Sertãozinho (SP), and has generated interest from several investors and mills.
New renewable fuel is composed of bioethanol and additives
According to Marcos Daniel de Lima, director of R&D and Technological Innovation at DUO, called during the event, QDiesel Verde, created by Brazilian companies Quadra and Duo Automation, is made up of 96,8% bioethanol and 3,2% additives, which make vehicle ignition possible through compression, providing the same lubricity as fossil diesel oil, attracting the attention of investors.
The executive claims that the renewable fuel it has already been successfully tested in several types of engines, from trucks to harvesters, and is now in the approval phase by investors.

According to Lima, in a presentation, and information provided by the event's press office, negotiations are being opened for investors interested in ethanol-based diesel to carry out the installation plan in the national and international markets.
A Duo Automation and Quadra have funds and interested companies and are negotiating these possibilities. Lima claims that there are two groups of sugarcane mills already waiting for the installation of renewable fuel production units in their factories, after the homologations.
New green diesel will be destined for heavy vehicles
The director states that the company is open to anyone interested in participating in this revolution for ethanol. According to the executive, the ethanol-based green diesel can be aimed mainly at heavier vehicles, bearing in mind that light vehicles tend to enter, in the future, more intensively in the electrification process, in a context of greater need for cleaner fuels.
For sugarcane mills, the executive emphasizes that the new renewable fuel it could also become a big business due to the fact that the sector is a large consumer of diesel, with an estimated consumption of 2 billion liters per year.
Urban buses in large cities would be a market equivalent to more than 1 billion liters, while the North American market could also be a buyer. Lima did not comment on which groups are interested in the new renewable fuel technology.
Multinational Porsche invests in new renewable fuel
Porsche announced earlier this year that it will make a new millionaire investment of US$ 75 million, equivalent to more than R$ 355 million, in HIF Global LLC, a holding company that works with renewable projects and in the direct production of synthetic gasoline capable of replacing fuels produced from petroleum.
Through this initiative, the German automaker will buy a long-term stake in HIF, to boost and generate the first commercially available synthetic fuel later this year. According to the German multinational, the production of this new renewable fuel may start later this year.
When the first stage is completed, the company will have two extensions to the complex, one in 2024 and the other only in 2026, bringing the previously estimated production from 55 to 550 million liters of the new gasoline. Brands such as Siemens Energy and ExxonMobil are involved in the production of fuel from hydrogen and carbon dioxide using wind energy.
