With Works Aiming at the Expansion of the Port of Cabedelo, the Government of the State of Paraíba Plans to Generate New Jobs and Increase Ship Receipt.
The Port of Cabedelo, located in Paraíba, celebrates 88 years of foundation, experiencing an unprecedented phase of expansion. One of the highlights related to this growth is the deepening of the navigation channel, which currently has a depth of 9.14 meters and will reach 11 meters. Through an investment estimated at nearly R$ 100 million, the works will allow the arrival of ships with a cargo capacity of 55 thousand tons, 57% more than those currently received. In addition, it will generate several job opportunities for the local residents.

The contracts related to the works were signed in March of last year by the State Government and are being executed by DTA Engenharia, a company specialized in port and environmental engineering.
With 60% of the planning completed, the expansion dredging is expected to be finished this semester. According to the company Docas da Paraíba, with the new access dimensions, it will be possible to attract new cargoes and operations to the maritime complex.

The works are expected to take place in the city of Caaporã, located on the southern coast of Paraíba, 60 kilometers from Cabedelo, generating about 224 direct jobs and an investment of R$ 20 million.
The letter of intent was signed on the 16th, last Monday.
According to the Companhia Docas da Paraíba, the new unit will improve port logistics, alleviate congestion at access points, and increase competitiveness.

The port is located on the banks of the estuary of the Rio Paraíba do Norte, to the northwest of the city of Cabedelo, in the metropolitan region of João Pessoa, in the state of Paraíba.
With 602 meters of dock, its area of influence extends beyond the state, encompassing the states of Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte.
The complex has silos with a storage capacity of 35 thousand tons, 14 thousand square meters of covered warehouses, 18 thousand square meters of yards, and tank storage areas. It also has a network of pipelines.
Through the new investments and works, the Port of Cabedelo becomes a new source of job opportunities, as well as increasing the capital generated for the state of Paraíba through new cargo ships.
