The Advancement of Corn Exports in Paraná in 2025 Reveals Strategic Changes in the Field, Increase in Revenues, and Direct Impact on the Global Grain Market
The exports of corn in Paraná gain prominence in 2025 with an advancement that reflects not only the pace of the regional agribusiness, but also a combination of structural factors that repositioned the cereal in foreign trade, according to a report published.
The State shipped 3.55 million tons of corn between January and October, compared to the 1.27 million recorded in the same period of 2024.
The jump of 179% was accompanied by a revenue of US$ 757.7 million, nearly three times the US$ 268.2 million from the previous year.

The sea water temperature rose from 28 to 34 degrees in Santa Catarina and killed up to 90% of the oysters: producers who planted over 1 million seeds lost practically everything and say that if it happens again, production is doomed to end.

An Indian tree that grows in the Brazilian Northeast produces an oil capable of acting against more than 200 species of pests and interrupting the insect cycle, gaining ground as a natural alternative in soybean, cotton, and vegetable crops.

The rise in oil prices in the Middle East is already affecting Brazilian sugar: mills in the Central-South are seeing their margins shrink just as ethanol gains strength.

Rain gains strength in April, potentially exceeding 150 mm, placing the North, Northeast, and the coasts of the South and Southeast at the center of the heaviest forecast of the week.
This movement accompanies a scenario where producers prioritized the outflow of the cereal due to the record harvest of the previous cycle and the lower attractiveness of corn compared to soybeans in the domestic market.
The data is part of the Conjunctural Bulletin of the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of Paraná.
Record Harvest and Growth of Paranaese Agricultural Exports
The Deral report shows that this significant increase is directly associated with the volume harvested in the previous cycle, considered historic.
The slight increase in the international price of corn, from US$ 210.58 to US$ 213.43 per ton, contributed to the boosted revenue, although the main impetus came from the large flow of shipments.
The strategy of producers prioritizing corn in early marketing was decisive, as the cereal tends to show lower internal profitability compared to soybeans.
The bulletin points out that corn exports in Paraná help balance the market, especially as they reflect the dynamics of an agribusiness attentive to global changes.
Impacts on Soybeans and the Record Corn Harvest 2025
The movement of corn occurs at a distinct moment for the soybean complex, which recorded a 10% decline in shipments between January and October.
The State exported 13.56 million tons of meal, oil, and grains, totaling US$ 5.53 billion. Despite this reduction, segments such as soybean oil saw an 18% increase, while meal grew by 2%.
The decline was concentrated in raw grain, which saw a 15% decrease.
By adding corn and soybeans, Paraná moved 17.1 million tons during the period, up 4.1% from the previous year, reinforcing that the prioritization of the cereal supported the overall result.
The balance highlights that prioritization of corn reinforced the prominence of corn exports in Paraná, especially in light of the need to clear warehouses before the next harvest.
Productive Diversification and the International Grain Market
Other segments analyzed by Deral help to contextualize the environment in which agricultural chains operate.
Brazilian honey, for example, registered a 1.5% increase in volume and 31.2% in revenue up to October, even under the impacts of the 50% tariff imposed by the United States.
Paraná maintained a prominent position with 5.57 thousand tons and US$ 18.6 million.
In cassava, the production estimate for 2025 reaches 4.2 million tons, above the 3.7 million from the previous year, while the price paid to the producer reached R$ 543.57 per ton in October.
Among animal proteins, chicken saw a decline in production costs, reaching R$ 4.55/kg.
The bulletin also presents relevant figures for cattle, pigs, and mushrooms, such as the 1.49 million tons of pork produced in the quarter and the 982 thousand kilos of mushrooms harvested in the State in 2024.
The context reinforces that corn exports in Paraná are part of a broader set of agricultural movements that engage with the international grain market and different strategies of agricultural outflow, increasing the revenue of Brazilian commodities across multiple sectors.
