Methodology And Objectives Of The IPS Brazil
The IPS Brazil was developed by the Institute of Man and Environment of the Amazon in partnership with research centers.
Published for the first time in the country, the index examines social and environmental dimensions through three pillars: Basic Human Needs, Foundations for Well-Being, and Opportunities.
Each of these includes four components composed of indicators with different weights. The score ranges from zero to 100 and corresponds to the simple average of the three dimensions.
The study uses 52 indicators from institutions such as DataSUS, National Justice Council, Anatel and CadÚnico.
To integrate the survey, each indicator had to meet specific criteria, including having a public and reliable source, presenting recent data, and being available to all or nearly all municipalities. The update will occur annually.
