Federal Institute calls for EAD and free course with 200 spots in a 400-hour specialization.
The specialization is fully funded by the Secretary of Basic Education of the Ministry of Education (SEB/MEC), with no enrollment or tuition fees for students.
The specialization in School Management will be offered in distance learning mode, with support from the Virtual Learning Environment of IFCE, and scheduled in-person meetings throughout the course.
The program lasts for 18 months and includes a total workload of 420 hours, comprising theoretical subjects, online activities, face-to-face moments, and the preparation and defense of the Specialization Course Completion Work (TCCE).
The central objective is to qualify professionals to act in the management of educational institutions, strengthening administrative, pedagogical, and accountability practices in the scope of public basic education.
Among the themes covered are distance education, public policies, public management, financial and asset planning, people management, project development and evaluation, and administrative processes in schools.
The defense of the final work will take place in person at the Baturité Campus, located at Avenida Ouvidor Vitóriano Soares Barbosa, in the municipality of Baturité, in the interior of Ceará.
Positions Distributed Across Ceará’s Poles
The 180 spots are distributed across five in-person support poles linked to the Baturité Campus, all in the state of Ceará.
- Baturité
- Caucaia (Novo Pabussu)
- Horizonte
- Iguatu
- Orós
Each pole offers 36 spots for students. The notice provides for the reservation of spots for affirmative actions.
At each pole, 20% of the opportunities are reserved for self-declared black, mixed-race, and indigenous candidates (PPIs) and 10% for people with disabilities (PcD), provided that the eligibility criteria specified in the IFCE regulations and federal legislation are met.
The unoccupied spots within the quotas may be reallocated to other modalities, following the rules outlined in the official document.
Target Audience and Selection Priorities
To compete, candidates must hold a degree in any field of knowledge, issued by an institution recognized by the MEC.
In specific situations, the notice exceptionally accepts a declaration or certificate of completion of a degree course accompanied by a transcript, provided it was issued no more than one year before the application date.
Although graduates in general can apply for a spot, the selection is primarily directed towards professionals in basic public education.
The order of priority established by the notice considers, first, currently serving school directors in state or municipal public schools.
Next are pedagogical coordinators, technicians from state and municipal education departments, currently employed basic education teachers, and only in the case of remaining spots, other education professionals.
This prioritization aims to ensure that training directly reaches those who work in management and support for public school management, enhancing the technical capacity of teams responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring educational policies in the daily life of educational units.
Evaluation Criteria and Required Documentation
The selection of students will be conducted through document analysis, verifying compliance with the training and professional experience requirements described in the notice.
Documents required include identification proof, CPF, electoral discharge certificate, up-to-date proof of address, diploma or documentation of completion of the degree, and proof of the position held in the education area.
For those competing for spots reserved for affirmative actions, additional documentation is necessary, such as an ethnic-racial self-declaration for PPIs and medical reports or specific proof for people with disabilities, as well as declarations issued by indigenous communities when applicable.
These documents are evaluated by specific committees for heteroidentification and accessibility, according to IFCE’s internal regulations.
The final classification will strictly follow the priority order of the target audience defined in the notice.
In the event of a tie, the criterion used will be the age of the candidate.
All tracking of stages must be done exclusively through the IFCE portal, and it is the candidate’s responsibility to check updates on dates and notices.
Online Applications and Submission of the Form
Applications for the School Management course are free and can only be completed online. The application period runs from November 12 to 26, 2025, closing at 12 PM (Brasília time) on the last day.
After this time, the system will not accept new submissions, even if the candidate is still filling out the form.
During registration, the candidate must compile all the required documentation into a single PDF file, with the name identification on the first page.
This file must include both general documents and, if applicable, specific proofs to compete for the reserved spots for PPIs or PcD.
Illegible, incomplete files, those without a signature, or those not meeting the standards described in the notice may result in disqualification, with no possibility of correction afterward outside the established appeal deadlines.
