Kenn Ricci is living proof that failure can be the starting point for a monumental turnaround. Today a billionaire and owner of one of the largest executive aviation companies in the world, Flexjet, he started from scratch — literally. After being fired from a job in the airline industry, he borrowed just US$ 500 from his father. With success came ostentation. Today, Ricci owns a collection of 40 luxury watches, valued at around US$ 2.5 million, and often takes annual vacations that cost up to US$ 800,000, traveling in his own jets to destinations like Monaco, Maldives, and Dubai.

In recent interviews, the businessman stated that his greatest motivation has never been money, but “to build something that challenges the limits of aviation and shows that nothing is impossible for those willing to take risks.”

The Secret of Success: Vision and Reinvention

Throughout his journey, Ricci faced economic crises, regulatory changes, and even the collapse of the airline industry during the pandemic. Instead of retreating, he innovated.

Under his leadership, Flexjet adopted hybrid shared aviation models, expanded access to executive jets for medium-sized companies, and began to heavily invest in sustainable aviation, including projects with green fuel and short-distance electric aircraft.

Besides Flexjet, Ricci is the founder and president of Directional Aviation Capital, a group that controls several companies related to luxury aviation, such as Sentient Jet and PrivateFly, specializing in on-demand chartering. Together, these companies generate more than US$ 2 billion per year and employ thousands of professionals.
