Firjan SENAI announced the opening of 4,935 free vacancies in high school-level technical courses for various regions of the state of Rio de Janeiro.

The opportunities are distributed across 24 units throughout the state — including the capital, Metropolitan Region, and the interior.

Applications must be made online by January 2, 2026 — or earlier, if the vacancies are filled.

Who Can Enroll in the Free Technical Courses?

To participate in the vacancies for Firjan SENAI’s free technical courses, certain prerequisites must be met:

Prove a gross monthly per capita family income of up to 1.5 federal minimum wage. Proof is made through self-declaration.

Meet the educational and age requirements required for the chosen course.

There is no charge for registration or enrollment — in other words, the vacancies are truly free.

Where and How Will the Free Technical Courses Be Offered?

The nearly 5,000 vacancies cover free technical courses offered at 24 Firjan SENAI units, distributed in the Metropolitan Region — including Vila Isabel, Laranjeiras, Maracanã, Tijuca, Benfica, Jacarepaguá, Santa Cruz, Niterói, São Gonçalo, Itaguaí, Nova Iguaçu, and Duque de Caxias — as well as in the interior of the state, with units in Barra do Piraí, Barra Mansa, Valença, Três Rios, Volta Redonda, Resende, Petrópolis, Nova Friburgo, Itaperuna, Campos dos Goytacazes, and Macaé.

Classes are offered in the morning, afternoon, or evening, according to the availability of each unit.

The modalities vary: generally, 80% of the workload is completed in person at the unit, and 20% through self-study — that is, the student needs access to a computer and internet for activities outside the classroom.

There are various schedules available — morning, afternoon, or evening — depending on the unit.

What Free Technical Courses Are Available at Firjan SENAI?

The covered areas vary widely, with free technical courses aimed at different profiles and interests.

Among those offered by Firjan SENAI are: Automation and Mechatronics; Electro-electronics; Automotive; Metalworking (mechanics and welding); Media Communication; Information Technology (IT) — Software and Hardware; Logistics; Management; Clothing; Oil and Gas; Refrigeration and Air Conditioning; Graphic and Print and Digital Media; Civil Construction; Renewable Energies; Chemistry; Occupational Safety; Food and Beverages.

This variety allows candidates with different interests and profiles to find a technical training option compatible with their professional goals.

Applications must be made online by January 2, 2026 — or earlier, if all the vacancies in Firjan SENAI’s free technical courses are filled.

The selection will include a test with multiple-choice questions in Portuguese Language and Mathematics. The scheduled date is January 17, 2026, from 10 AM to 12 PM.
