INSS Announces Competition with 1,000 Openings and Salary of R$ 9.7 Thousand: Announcement Expected by July 2025 and Rules Include Minimum Stay of 5 Years at the Location. Find Out How to Prepare to Secure Your Place!

The wait is almost over! The public competition for INSS is confirmed and is expected to have its announcement published by July 2025. This information was released by the Minister of Social Security, Carlos Lupi, who stated that the selection will include 1,000 openings for higher education graduates.

The competition will have national coverage, with a greater focus on the North and Northeast regions, where there is a higher demand for civil servants. An important novelty was announced: approved candidates will need to remain in their assigned location for at least five years before requesting a transfer.

If you want to join the public service with an initial salary of approximately R$ 9.7 thousand, this could be your opportunity. Check all the details about the INSS competition and start preparing!

Openings and Positions for the INSS Competition 2025

The announcement for the INSS public competition 2025 will offer opportunities for two positions:

  • Social Security Technician – will require a degree in any area of knowledge.
  • Social Security Analyst – may include different fields of education, such as Accounting, Law, Engineering, among others.

This change in the requirement for higher education for the positions follows the CNPS/MPS resolution No. 1,366/2024, which recommends that all future INSS competitions require a degree.

The approved candidates in the INSS public competition will work in a 40-hour weekly schedule, receiving salaries around R$ 9.7 thousand, according to current values in the category.

What to Expect from the INSS 2025 Exam?

The selection of candidates is expected to follow a model similar to previous competitions. The forecast is that the competition will include two main stages:

1. Objective Exam

The first phase of the INSS public competition will be a multiple-choice exam or “True or False” questions, depending on the organizing body. The subjects covered should include:

  • Portuguese Language
  • Basic Computer Knowledge
  • Logical-Mathematical Reasoning
  • Constitutional Law and Administrative Law
  • Social Security Legislation
  • Social Assistance Legislation
  • Health of Workers and Persons with Disabilities
  • Specific Knowledge for each position

In the last INSS competitions, the organizing body was Cebraspe, which uses the “True or False” model, where wrong answers cancel out correct points. If Cebraspe is chosen again, this same methodology may be applied.

2. Training Course

Those approved in the objective exam will undergo a training course lasting approximately six months. During this period, candidates will have classes on the activities they will perform at INSS and may be evaluated at the end of the training.

What to Expect from the New INSS Announcement?

The INSS 2025 announcement is being finalized and, according to the Minister of Social Security, the document should be published by July. With the choice of the organizing body still underway, candidates can start studying based on the contents of the previous competitions.

An important rule has been established: new civil servants will need to remain in their assigned location for at least five years before requesting a transfer. This decision was made to prevent professionals from wanting to move to a different state shortly after appointment, which would harm the distribution of civil servants.

Last INSS Competitions: See How Previous Selections Were Conducted

The last INSS competition took place in 2022, offering 1,000 openings for Social Security Technicians (secondary education), in addition to 2,200 opportunities for the reserve list. The selection had 1,023,494 registered candidates, recording an average competition of 1,023 candidates per position.

In 2015, the INSS opened 150 vacancies for Social Security Analysts (higher education) and 800 for Technicians (secondary education). The competition had 1,043,807 candidates registered for the Technician position, with a competition of 1,304 candidates per vacancy.

Both selections were organized by Cebraspe, and the expectation is that the INSS public competition 2025 will follow a similar format.

How to Prepare for the INSS 2025 Competition?

If you want to secure one of the 1,000 INSS vacancies, it is advisable to start preparing as soon as possible. As there is still no official announcement, candidates can base their studies on the content covered in past selections.

Here are some tips to prepare:

  • Review Previous Announcements – Exams usually follow a pattern, so studying the format of the last selections can help understand how the themes are addressed.
  • Create a Study Schedule – Organize your time to review all subjects, prioritizing the disciplines that carry more weight in the exam.
  • Practice with Previous Questions – Solving past INSS exams is essential to train for the style of questions and assess your performance.
  • Pay Attention to the Choice of the Organizing Body – The definition of the competition organizer can influence the style of questions and the correction methodology.
