The Kia Soul Offers a 1.6 Engine with Up to 128 HP, Striking Design and Good Performance for Everyday Use. Check the Technical Sheet, Consumption and Main Highlights of the Model.

What drives so many drivers to seek the Kia Soul in the used car market? The model, known for its unique design and practical driving, continues to attract those looking to escape the ordinary.

The search intensifies because the vehicle combines interior space, familiar mechanics in Brazil, and competitive prices.

Next, see the main aspects that influence the purchase — evaluating when it emerged, how it evolved, why its cost-benefit is attractive and where the consumer should pay more attention before closing the deal.

Interest mainly grows among those looking for an urban car with an SUV stance, but without the high cost of that segment.

Moreover, the Kia Soul has a history of affordable maintenance, which reinforces its appeal in the used market.

How the Kia Soul Conquered Its Space

The Kia Soul debuted in 2008 in the international market and arrived in Brazil the following year, coming directly from South Korea.

The first generation used the 1.6 engine from the Gamma family, already known for equipping other Kia and Hyundai models, which helps in the supply of parts.

Over time, the model underwent a visual update in 2014, gaining more modern lines and new configurations, while always maintaining its urban crossover proposal.

The model uses a 1.6-liter engine and delivers:

122 HP when fueled with gasoline

128 HP when fueled with ethanol

A Design That Divides Opinions — And Just Why It Catches Attention

The Kia Soul’s visual is one of its most striking elements. The more square body, with high lines and a verticalized windshield, created a unique identity.

It’s a style designed for those who don’t want a traditional car, and despite divided opinions, the result is a model that stands out easily in traffic.

1.6 Engine and Automatic Transmission: Performance Thought Out for Everyday Use

The Kia Soul’s mechanics have always prioritized reliability. The 1.6 aspirated engine offers adequate power for urban use, maintaining consistent fuel consumption for the category.

In the six-speed automatic versions, the behavior is comfortable, even though it’s not the fastest in shifts.

The proposal is clear: smooth and predictable driving, ideal for urban routes and short trips.

Internal Comfort and Space Utilization

Inside, the Kia Soul delivers a high driving position, something much appreciated by those who feel more secure with greater visibility of the road.

The front seats are comfortable, and the rear space accommodates two adult passengers well, although a third may feel cramped.

The trunk, with approximately 330 liters, meets everyday use but may require some creativity with larger luggage due to the compartment’s height.

Kia Soul: Simple Finish, But Functional

The interior consists mainly of hard plastics, a common characteristic in more affordable vehicles.

Although it doesn’t offer luxury, the finish is functional and easy to clean.

On the other hand, when driving on uneven surfaces, the level of internal noise can be higher than ideal, especially at high speeds.

Safety Items and Most Searched Versions

Among used models, the 2013 automatic version is usually one of the most sought after for offering an interesting set of equipment.

Depending on the configuration, the Soul may feature airbags, ABS brakes, and a rearview camera — elements that enhance safety and add value to the used car.

Kia Soul Maintenance: Advantages and Costs That Deserve Attention

A very positive point of the Kia Soul is the ease of finding parts related to the Gamma engine, shared with various Hyundai and Kia cars in the country.

However, some specific components — such as rear shock absorbers — may have a higher price.

Overall, brake pads, spark plugs, and wear items vary by supplier, but maintenance tends to be smooth when the car is well taken care of.

Possible Problems in Used Models

Kia Soul buyers should pay attention to components like the ignition coil, which may show premature wear.

Additionally, suspension parts, such as bushings and links, warrant thorough inspection, especially if the vehicle has operated on bumpy roads.

The clutch should also be carefully evaluated in units with high mileage.

Market Values and Cost-Benefit

2013 models typically appear with prices between R$ 37,000 and R$ 50,000, depending on overall condition and mileage.

Within the segment, the Kia Soul positions itself as a used car with a good balance between cost and equipment offerings, especially when compared to other compacts with a similar proposal.

Is the Used Kia Soul Worth It?

For those wanting an urban vehicle with a striking appearance, adequate space, and reliable mechanics, the used Kia Soul is a very strong option.

It delivers what it promises: practicality, style, and a mechanical set that is simple to maintain.

However, like any used car, it requires a thorough check of its history and maintenance before purchase.

With attention to these points, the Kia Soul becomes a smart choice — with plenty of personality.

Tenho um 2011/12 automático com 124.000 km. Carrinho muito bom. Até agora tive que só fazer a troca do evaporador da ar-condicionado. E sempre fazendo viagens de 500 km nunca baixou pneu.
