Survey Shows Options for Mid-Sized Sedans with 2.0 Engine in the Used Car Market, Gathering Different Proposals for Space, Performance, and Price Range, Based on Ads Published on an Online Platform, Focusing on Traditional Models Sold in Brazil.

Mid-sized sedans equipped with a 2.0 engine continue to appear as an option in the used car market for those seeking interior space, large trunk, and performance suitable for road trips.

In a selection of ads published on Mercado Livre, made by the portal Autoesporte, it is possible to find five models with this mechanical configuration starting at R$ 16,500, with price variations related to year, version, mileage, and condition.

Before the popularization of SUVs, this type of car held a consolidated position in the Brazilian market.

Although it never led the sales rankings, the mid-sized sedan was frequently associated with family use, precisely because it offered more generous dimensions and predictable behavior on long drives.

Moreover, many of the models sold in the country adopted larger displacement engines, such as the 2.0 aspirated, a configuration traditionally linked to more linear responses on the road.

The values mentioned throughout the text were verified in active ads on Mercado Livre during January 2026.

As is the case with this type of survey, the prices reflect seller requests and may vary according to individual factors of each vehicle.

Among the lower-priced ads, the Astra stands out as one of the most affordable mid-sized sedans with a 2.0 engine.

The Astra G generation, produced in Brazil between 1998 and 2011, concentrates the majority of the offers found in this price range.

The next generation was sold in the country under a different name, the Vectra, and coexisted for a few years with the Astra itself in the brand’s portfolio.

In ads starting from R$ 16,500, the model appears with different configurations of the 2.0 engine.

The 16V version delivers 128 hp and 19.2 kgfm of torque, while the GSi uses a calibration that raises the power to 136 hp, maintaining the same torque.

There are also units with the 2.0 8V engine, which present more modest numbers, with 112 hp and 17.3 kgfm.

In terms of dimensions, the Astra offers wheelbase of 2.61 meters and trunk capacity of 460 liters, measurements that explain its recurring presence among buyers who prioritize space for passengers and luggage.

The Sentra arrived in Brazil in 2004, already in its fifth generation, identified by the code B15.

Since then, the model has gone through different phases in the national market and has remained an alternative among the mid-sized sedans available in the country.

In the used car market, older versions still frequently appear in ads.

With prices starting from R$ 23,900, the more affordable units use the 2.0 engine from the MR20 family, with 143 hp and 20.3 kgfm of torque.

This set was adopted for several years and, in subsequent generations, received technical updates, such as the inclusion of direct injection and additional phase variators, increasing the power to 151 hp in newer versions.

In the case of units from the late 2000s, the Sentra stands out for its interior dimensions.

The wheelbase of 2.68 meters is one of the largest in the segment.

Meanwhile, the trunk can hold 442 liters, according to technical data released at the time.

The Jetta’s journey in Brazil includes a name change that still appears in listings.

In the fourth generation, the sedan was sold as Bora.

This designation was abandoned starting with the fifth generation, launched in 2008.

The sixth generation, introduced in 2010, concentrated the main 2.0 engine options currently available in the used market.

Ads starting from R$ 48,900 include two distinct proposals.

On one hand, there is the 2.0 8V aspirated engine, with up to 120 hp and 18.4 kgfm of torque.

On the other, there are versions equipped with the 2.0 TSI turbo, delivering 200 hp and 28.5 kgfm, significantly higher figures within the same model.

Regardless of the engine, the Jetta maintains dimensions that position it as a mid-sized sedan aimed at road use.

The wheelbase is 2.65 meters.

The trunk has a declared capacity of 510 liters.

The Corolla has been produced in Brazil since 1998, after an initial period of importation.

Over the years, the model has solidified its presence in the national market with different generations and mechanical configurations.

In the context of this survey, the focus is on the first units equipped with a 2.0 engine.

Ads starting from R$ 48,900 feature vehicles manufactured in 2011, the year the Corolla began adopting the 2.0 flex engine.

With ethanol, this set delivers up to 153 hp and about 20.7 kgfm of torque.

With gasoline, the figures are around 142 hp and 19.8 kgfm.

The measurements released for this phase indicate wheelbase of 2.60 meters and trunk of 470 liters.

In these initial versions, the automatic transmission associated with the 2.0 engine has four gears, a common configuration in the segment at that time.

With prices starting from R$ 55,900, the ads include units of the 2.0 Civic launched as 2014 model year.

The engine delivers 155 hp and 19.5 kgfm of torque.

This set works in conjunction with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The dashboard with two levels of information is a characteristic of this generation.

In terms of dimensions, the Civic presents wheelbase of 2.66 meters.

The trunk has a capacity of 449 liters, figures aligned with the standard for mid-sized sedans sold in the country.
