Mahindra Launches New Factory in Dois Irmãos and Plans to Triple Tractor Production in Brazil, Strengthening Presence in the Agricultural Market and Technology Innovation.

Mahindra, a global reference in tractors, has started the construction of its new factory in Dois Irmãos, Rio Grande do Sul.

The event gathered local authorities, dealers, and brand executives, marking the start of a strategic project to increase production capacity and meet the growing demand in the Brazilian market.

With the new facility, Mahindra aims to expand its portfolio and consolidate its presence in Latin America.

Jak Torretta Junior, CEO of Mahindra do Brasil, stated: “With the new factory, we will triple our production capacity, increasing from 3,000 to 9,000 tractors per year.”

The project will occupy an area of 83,000 square meters, providing more space for assembling various models and gradually replacing the current structure of the company in the country.

New Factory of Mahindra: Modern Structure and Flexible Production

The new plant is in the earthworks phase, with civil construction expected to start in January 2026, and operation scheduled for April 2027.

Anderson Melo, industrial operations director, highlighted: “The main differentiator will be how the plant is designed internally.”

The production line will have a modular format, allowing the manufacture of tractors ranging from 25 to 80 hp, including a new 50 hp model.

This modular approach offers flexibility for Mahindra to quickly adjust production to new demands, enabling a greater variety of models available locally and speeding up the introduction of technological innovations.

Strategic Expansion in the Global Market

The project for the unit in Dois Irmãos goes beyond national territory.

Mahindra, which holds nearly 45% of the tractor market in India, sees Brazil as a strategic hub to strengthen its presence in Latin America.

Melo reinforced: “This new plant marks an important addition to Mahindra’s global expansion. The investment in Dois Irmãos will be a key hub to serve not only Brazil but also Latin America.”

Benefits for Farmers and the Agricultural Sector

The increase in production will allow farmers to access more models tailored to local conditions, enhancing operational efficiency in the field.

Furthermore, the presence of a modern plant facilitates technical support, logistics, and maintenance, strengthening the brand’s reliability.

Mahindra also projects that the factory will boost the confidence of dealers and customers, ensuring a consistent supply of tractors and enhancing the competitiveness of the Brazilian agricultural sector.

The construction of the new factory in Dois Irmãos represents a strategic milestone for Mahindra in Brazil.

With tripled capacity, a modular production line, and a diversified portfolio, the company reinforces its commitment to innovation and expansion in the Latin American market.

For Jak Torretta Junior and Anderson Melo, the plant will not only increase production but also strengthen Mahindra’s presence as a reference in technology and efficiency in the tractor sector.
