According to the website webmotors, the new Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 may arrive in Brazil in 2026. The New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 was showcased at the São Paulo International Auto Show as the automaker’s new bet for the midsize to large sedan segment, focusing on cost-effectiveness and sophistication.
With a hybrid plug-in body of 350 HP, high-end interior, and an extensive list of equipment, the model is designed to compete directly with BYD King, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and even the Nissan Sentra, targeting consumers who do not want to give up on comfort, technology, and performance during the market’s transition to SUVs.
Large Sedan Size and Updated Appearance
Built on the same platform as the Tiggo 8, the new Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 measures 4.78 m in length, 2.79 m in wheelbase, 1.84 m in width, and 1.46 m in height, with a weight of up to 1,589 kg. The trunk offers 504 liters, a very interesting figure for a midsize-large sedan aimed at family use.

The list of equipment is extensive. The sedan offers a panoramic sunroof, keyless entry, wireless phone charging, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and driving mode selector.
The transmission is engaged by a joystick-style lever, reinforcing the technological proposal of the cabin.
The front seats come with electric adjustments, memory, heating, ventilation, and massage function, something rare among direct competitors.
The climate control is dual-zone, and there is remote start from a distance, an interesting feature for those who wish to cool or heat the cabin before entering the car. The sound system is signed by Sony, and there is configurable ambient lighting in LED with over 240 colors.
The instrument panel is fully digital, with a 10.2-inch screen, and focuses on driving information, usage modes, and hybrid system data.
In the center of the dashboard, the multimedia system draws attention with a 15.6-inch screen that integrates most of the car’s functions. Through it, it is possible to control the climate, access 360-degree cameras, and use wireless smartphone mirroring.
Plug-in Hybrid System of 350 HP and Respectable Performance
In Brazil, the New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 has been confirmed with a plug-in hybrid system targeting other electrified sedans, especially the BYD King.
The system combines a 1.5 turbo gasoline four-cylinder engine with two electric motors, one responsible for traction and the other dedicated to recharging the batteries.
In total, the sedan delivers 350 combined horsepower and 54 kgfm of torque, always managed by an ECVT transmission. According to the data released, the performance is strong, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds.
These numbers place the New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 on par with sports models in acceleration, but with a more restrained consumption proposal.
The manufacturer reports that the 100 percent electric range reaches 10,000 km, and in hybrid mode, it can reach 100 km, according to the technical materials presented so far.
These values will still need to be detailed by the brand when the model has specific approval for the Brazilian market.
Abroad, the Arizo 8 is also offered with combustion-only engines. One of the configurations uses a 1.6 turbo gasoline engine with 187 horsepower and 28 kgfm of torque, always linked to a seven-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission.
In the top versions, there is also a 2.0 turbo gasoline engine with 250 horsepower and 38.7 kgfm of torque, capable of taking the sedan from 0 to 100 km/h in about 6 seconds. For Brazil, however, the initial bet will indeed be on the plug-in hybrid system.
Complete Safety Package with Driving Assistants
The safety package of the New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 is one of the highlights of the project. The model uses the Max Drive system, already known from other cars in the Tiggo family, and gathers practically all the main driving assistants currently available in the category.
Among the features are front collision warning, traffic sign reader, lane change alert with active correction, automatic high beam switching, rear cross-traffic alert, low-speed maneuver braking, and blind spot alert.
The sedan also offers autonomous emergency braking with detection of animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, as well as lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function.
According to the brand, the Arizo 8 received the highest safety rating in crash tests conducted in Asia, reinforcing the strategy to position the New Caoa Chery Arrizo as a technological and safe alternative against Japanese and Chinese rivals who have been in the segment longer.
Expected Price, Direct Rivals, and Brand Strategy in Brazil
Even in a market dominated by SUVs and pickup trucks, the New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 arrives to prove that there is still space for well-equipped sedans with an electrified proposal. The main target is the BYD King, but the model should also disrupt the sales of Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, and Nissan Sentra in the higher price ranges.
The expectation is that the New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 lands imported from China, as happens with the brand’s plug-in hybrids, and is positioned in the price range of 200,000 to 230,000 reais.
Thus, it is expected to compete directly with the top versions of the BYD King, currently sold between 169,990 and 175,990 reais, as well as closely match the Toyota Corolla Hybrid, which is already approaching 200,000 reais, and fall below the Honda Civic Hybrid, which exceeds 260,000 reais.
The Nissan Sentra, still only combustion and priced close to 200,000 reais in the most expensive version, is also in sight, especially among customers who prioritize comfort and finish.
If it repeats the aggressive pricing policy applied to other national models, the brand can transform the New Caoa Chery Arrizo 8 into the most complete and competitive option among electrified sedans sold in the country.
Caoa Chery itself knows that the Arizo 6 never reached the full potential expected in sales.
Now, with a larger, more sophisticated car, much more complete and with a 350 HP plug-in hybrid powertrain, the idea is to fill the space left by traditional sedans while also attracting consumers who are considering switching from SUVs to a high-end sedan.
