New Chevrolet model debuts in Brazil with 443 km of autonomy, 292 hp and lots of technology. The electric SUV promises to take on strong competitors, such as BMW and Volvo, bringing a futuristic design and advanced features.

With a futuristic design and cutting-edge technology, Chevrolet's new electric SUV arrives to redefine the segment in Brazil.

While the market of carros electric cars are growing by leaps and bounds, GM wants to show that it is willing to compete on equal terms with luxury brands such as BMW and Volvo.

However, this new bet by Chevrolet holds interesting secrets that go beyond its competitive price. But what makes this model a real threat to the competition?

An SUV with advanced technology and surprising performance

According to GM, the Equinox EV, launched in Brazil as the brand's second all-electric SUV, brings plenty of innovation.

Equipped with two electric motors, it offers an all-wheel drive system and a certified range of 443 km, according to Inmetro.

Furthermore, it comes with a power output of 292 horsepower, providing a robust and efficient driving experience.

The Equinox EV is designed with the Ultium platform, which uses batteries as part of the vehicleโ€™s structure. This not only reduces costs, but also improves performance and onboard technology.

Chevrolet is keen to emphasize that this is an SUV aimed at the premium market, competing directly with models such as the BMW iX1 and the Volvo C40.

Equinox: impressive power and autonomy

Priced at R$419, the Equinox EV comes equipped with an 85 kW battery. This allows it to reach up to 443 km of autonomy in the Brazilian cycle.

The SUV is also compatible with alternating current (AC) charging of up to 22 kW and direct current (DC) of up to 150 kW, which makes the recharging process much faster for drivers.

Performance is equally remarkable, with a delivery of 46 kgfm of torque.

Although its total power of 292 hp is lower than the 347 hp of the Blazer EV, another electric model from Chevrolet, it still stands out for its four-wheel drive system and high energy efficiency.

A look at design and comfort

Despite carrying the Equinox name, the design of this SUV is completely renewed. The futuristic look is marked by LED headlights and taillights that connect at both the front and rear.

With 19-inch wheels and flush-mounted door handles, the Equinox EV stands out for its low body and smaller side windows, which give it a bold, modern aesthetic.

The interior is also impressive. The gear selector has been repositioned on the steering column, freeing up space in the center console, which now has cup holders and large storage compartments.

The highlight, however, is the 17,7-inch screen with the Google Built-In system, which does not depend on external mirroring.

This system offers navigation specially designed for electric cars, optimizing range and indicating charging points along the way. The configurable 11-inch instrument panel is another technological element that reinforces the vehicle's premium character.

Safety equipment and cutting-edge technology

Chevrolet didn't skimp on the Equinox EV's equipment list, offering a wide range of driving assistants and comfort items.

Among the main features, the adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic braking when reversing and blind spot warning with active steering stand out.

In addition, the electric SUV has automatic air conditioning, 360ยฐ cameras, a portable charger and a panoramic sunroof.

The One Pedal system, which allows you to drive using only the accelerator, is present with three configurable driving modes, offering more practicality and comfort when driving.

Fierce competition with premium brands

Chevrolet is betting big, aiming directly at the luxury electric SUV market, such as the BMW iX1 and Volvo C40. The Equinox EV offers generous dimensions and cutting-edge technologies to compete with these brands.

The SUV measures 4.840 mm in length, 1.954 mm in width and 1.646 mm in height, with a 2.954 mm wheelbase, providing a spacious interior. The trunk holds up to 441 liters, ideal for long trips and greater practicality in everyday life.

The Ultium platform developed by General Motors gives the Equinox EV an important differentiator: the ability to integrate the batteries into the vehicle's structure. This allows for greater rigidity and safety, as well as optimizing energy efficiency.

Equinox: a future electric car for Chevrolet

With the Equinox EV, Chevrolet reaffirms its commitment to electrification in Brazil, promising more affordable and technological options in the coming years. This model shows how the brand is willing to compete aggressively in the premium segment, even with strong competition from European giants.

Now, it remains to be seen: Is the Brazilian market ready to welcome this new generation of electric SUVs with open arms?
