The New Special Credit of R$ 500 Million Strengthens the Action of the Brazilian Navy by Ensuring the Continuity of Frigates and Expanding the Protection of National Waters
The National Congress is analyzing Bill No. 32/25, which provides for the opening of a special credit of R$ 500 million in the 2025 Budget for a new program from the Command of the Brazilian Navy.
The initiative aims to allow the Union to participate in the capital of the Naval Projects Management Company, Emgepron, ensuring the continuity of the Tamandaré Class Frigate Program throughout 2026.
Allocation of Resources
According to the Ministry of Defense, the credit will be applied to the construction of escort ships equipped with systems and sensors aimed at protecting maritime traffic.

Bill No. 32/25 will now proceed for evaluation by the Joint Budget Committee. After this step, it will be considered in a joint session by the Plenary of the National Congress, comprising the Chamber of Deputies and the Federal Senate.
