For this wind energy project with Casa dos Ventos, Vestas developed a customized solution, with V150-4.2 MW wind turbines, some delivered in 4,3 MW and others in 4.5 MW Power Optimized Mode to maximize the site's energy production , ensuring the lowest energy cost for the energy consumer.

Casa dos Ventos, one of the pioneers and largest investors in the development of wind energy projects in Brazil, placed an order for 534 MW for the second stage of the Rio do Vento complex, located in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The extension will add 504 MW to the first phase of the Vestas project that is under construction, and the combined complex of more than 1 GW will be the largest wind farm in Latin America to date.

Casa dos Ventos is excited about the new wind energy project

The contract with Vestas includes the supply, installation and commissioning of the wind energy turbines, as well as a 5000-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 20) service contract. The wind power project is expected to come on stream in 2023.

This is the third contract signed between the partners in less than two years, totaling 1,2 GW of wind turbines, demonstrating the strong collaboration between Vestas and Casa dos Ventos. With this transaction, Vestas further strengthens its presence in Brazil, where we have a total order intake of more than 5,5 GW in wind power.
