The CBO Group, a Brazilian maritime transportation company, announced on Wednesday (11) the recent purchase of the PSV Standard Supporter, which will be renamed CBO Supporter, marking a new phase of fleet expansion for the company with the chartering of high-spec vessels.

The vessel was built in Norway in 2009, has DP2, 4900 dwt, Clean Design, Comfort Class, Oil Recovery Class, and Firefighting 1 Class. Its deck has 1033m2 of clear area and 10t/m2 of strength, and its tanks are capable of transporting diesel, water, mud, brine, cement, oily water, methanol, and other special products (fifteen NLS tanks). It has a diesel-electric propulsion system, is efficient in diesel consumption, and accommodates up to 25 people.
The vessel is currently operating in the North Sea under the management of Fletcher Group, a UK-based company, and has an excellent operational track record with major operators. The CBO Supporter will be available for new opportunities in 2020 in Brazil, the North Sea, or other promising markets.

What Are PSV Type Support Vessels?
Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) are vessels designed to have a high storage capacity with the aim of supplying offshore facilities (oil platforms), meaning the transport of individual goods.
A wide variety of different products is transported by these vessels, such as: water, oil, fuel, cement, gravel, tools…
The crew of PSVs typically consists of around 20 crew members.
