When Starlink started operations in Brazil in January 2022, few imagined the impact it would have. Despite all the attention the launch received, including the presence of Elon Musk himself and Brazilian authorities, its market share started modestly, representing only 3.6% by the end of the same year. But, like a rocket, literally, the company gained momentum, reaching 15.8% in May 2023 and becoming the leader in 2024 with 57% of the market, according to Anatel.

Surpassing Competitors In The Satellite Internet Market

This advance put Starlink ahead of Hughes, which now holds 31.1% of the market. The combination of advanced technology and focus on underserved regions was crucial for this success. It’s as if Elon Musk’s Starlink was navigating waters where no one wanted to enter but found an ocean full of opportunities.

One of Starlink’s major assets was connecting schools in remote areas of the Amazon. Imagine the scene: students in places that were once isolated now accessing global information. This transformation was so significant that the then Minister of Communications, Fábio Faria, demonstrated the Starlink kit in one of these schools.

E aguardem pq assim que chegar o celular por IP da Starlink a debandada vai ser gigante. Com tecnologia do passado e preços altos não vai ter pra ninguém. A única dificuldade vai ser conseguir a liberação deste governo retrógrado.
