The 680 Openings in Free Courses of Spanish, English, and Brazilian Sign Language Are Offered in Eight Municipalities of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul

680 openings in free courses of Spanish, English, and Brazilian Sign Language were opened by the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul (IFMS) last Tuesday, December 10. The openings are offered in eight municipalities of the state, and registration will be open until January 17, online. See also how to register for the free English course offered by MEC

Starting in the first semester of 2020, the free foreign language courses are made possible through the Language Center (Cenid) of the institution, in the municipalities of Aquidauana, Campo Grande, Corumbá, Coxim, Dourados, Jardim, Ponta Porã, and Três Lagoas.

The exam will consist of 42 multiple-choice questions aimed at assessing listening, visual, and general comprehension of the language (grammar and vocabulary). Regardless of the result obtained on the placement test, securing a spot will only be possible if the candidate is selected by a lottery scheduled for February 19.

The free language FIC courses offered by the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso do Sul lead students to skill development, enhancement, and knowledge of an additional language. The certificate is valid nationwide and certifies knowledge at the completed level.

Requirements

The openings are offered in two ways: for beginner groups and for those already in progress, which requires taking a placement test. To compete, it is necessary to have completed elementary education I.

Check the opening notice with the rules of the selection process for free Initial and Continuing Education (FIC) courses in foreign languages and Brazilian Sign Language at the basic and intermediate levels.

Offered in two stages, each consisting of three semesters, the courses are intended for students, IFMS staff, and the external community, aiming to promote the internationalization process of the institution.

Registrations

Like the courses, registrations are free and must be made between December 16 and January 17, exclusively through the Candidate Page of the Selection Center. Those who have never accessed the IFMS registration system must register in advance.

Interested participants who do not have internet access can visit the campuses where openings are available, at the addresses and times listed in annex IV of the notice. There will be no service on weekends, holidays, and recess periods.

Classes for the selected participants will begin in February (beginner groups) and March (ongoing groups).
