About the Online Course

The free online English course is part of a partnership between the Ministry of Education (MEC) and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES).

The free English course offered by the IsF Program is My English Online (MEO), developed by Cengage Learning and National Geographic, for students, teachers, and staff from institutions registered in the Languages Without Borders program.

The program was created with the aim of promoting actions toward a linguistic policy aimed at the internationalization of Brazilian Higher Education.

In MEO, the user will have access to interactive books, graded readings (National Geographic), grammar exercises (with immediate correction), dictionaries, activities for oral practice, and monitoring tests. Additionally, materials can be printed for later practice, without the need for consultation to the computer.

Registration

Students, teachers, and staff from institutions registered in the Languages Without Borders program can participate in the free online English course. But for this, you first need to click here to check if your institution is among the 140 institutions accredited by Brazil.

To start the course, the student must register on the platform and sign the Commitment Term. After that, the user has a deadline to start the studies. To learn more about the requirements/benefits and to register, click here to access the program’s website.

In addition to the free English course, courses in Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, German, and Portuguese for Foreigners are also offered.
