The Yuan Up SUV, part of BYD’s Dolphin line, will be presented as an electric competitor to the Volkswagen T-Cross, Chevrolet Tracker, Hyundai Creta, and Jeep Renegade. And it doesn’t stop there, Toyota Yaris Cross in the compact SUV segment. The new popular mini SUV from BYD also aims to attract consumers looking for vehicles with modern design, advanced technology, and energy efficiency, putting another rival in check, the highly anticipated Toyota Yaris Cross.

This is because the Chinese company believes that the Yuan Up can replicate the success of the Dolphin Mini in the Brazilian market. Observing that the compact was introduced in Brazil at competitive prices with combustion vehicles such as the Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai HB20, and Yaris, it is expected that the Yuan Up can compete in the market with models like Toyota Yaris Cross, Jeep Renegade, and Volkswagen T-Cross.

Yuan Up Comes Equipped with 160 hp of Power and Promises a Range of Up to 400 km

Information about the Yuan Up has been circulating since 2023 when the Chinese government released patents for the SUV, detailing engine and battery specifications. In the Chinese market, the vehicle will offer engines with power ranging from 95 hp to 160 hp. Battery options range between 32 kWh and 45.1 kWh, allowing for a range of 300 km to 400 km. It is important to highlight that it uses the same platform as the Yuan Plus, which is already sold in Brazil.

The design of the Yuan Up is also inspired by the Yuan Plus, evident in the shape of the headlights, body, and taillights. The new SUV measures 4.31 m in length, 1.83 m in width, and has a wheelbase of 2.62 m.
