The new acquisitions by AES Tietê in Rio Grande do Norte make up the Ventus Wind Complex – Brasventos Eolo Wind Farms (formerly Rei dos Ventos 1), Rei dos Ventos 3, and Miassaba 3.

The Ventus Wind Farm is located in one of the most privileged regions in terms of wind resources in the country, on the coast of the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

The wind complex in Rio Grande do Norte has been operational since 2014 and has 187 MW of installed capacity, marketed through a reserve auction for 20 years.

According to AES Tietê, the total purchase price is up to R$ 650 million. It consists of R$ 449 million for 51% on the closing date and 49% after 5 months, with no monetary adjustment.

In addition, there is the assumption of the project’s net debt, which is estimated at R$ 201 million. The operation will be fully financed through the project’s additional debt capacity and AES Tietê.

The head of AES Corp in South America, Julian Nebreda, stated that the company intends to accelerate the expansion of its renewable energy unit in Brazil, AES Tietê, after reaching an agreement with BNDES for the purchase of part of the state bank’s shares in the utility, involving approximately R$ 1.27 billion.

JSL Becomes a Subsidiary of Simpar

JSL approved the corporate reorganization, which was announced by the company on April 1 and July 21. Simpar purchased all of JSL’s issued shares. Additionally, there is the partial spin-off of JSL with incorporation of the spun-off portion into Simpar.

“Due to the approval of the Share Incorporation, the company is now, as of this date, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Simpar, and the shareholders of JSL become shareholders of Simpar,” the company stated in a note.
