With this acquisition, the wind energy company is expanding its operations beyond the Northeast and Southeast and establishing a presence also in the South of Brazil, increasing its portfolio of wind energy generation in the country.
Eletrobras’ administrative council has already approved the sale of the wind farm. With this investment, Omega is expected to reach a total of 1,777.7 MW of fully renewable energy, equivalent to nearly seven times the installed capacity the company had in 2017.

To finance the transaction, Omega plans to conduct a follow-on of R$ 500 million in a 100% primary offering coordinated by Itaú BBA.
