The Brazilian Oil Company Petrobras Continues to Seek Expansion in Transportation Operations and Now Awaits the Receipt of the Tanker Eagle Cambe, Which Was Received by AET in Its Fleet for Chartering with the State-Owned Company

The Singapore company AET recently announced the expansion of its fleet with the arrival of the new tanker Eagle Cambe, which will be dedicated to Petrobras. Thus, by this Thursday, (09/06), it is expected that the state-owned company will receive the vessel for transportation operations and is also awaiting another vessel of the same type to finalize the deal with 3 tankers for the company to expand its oil and gas exploration within the national territory.

Petrobras Will Receive Tanker Eagle Cambe from AET, Newly Arrived in the Company’s Fleet for Cargo Transportation Operations in the Oil and Gas Sector

Petrobras continues its growth plan in the production and marketing of fuels within the national territory, focusing on oil and natural gas, and its contract with AET is now advancing even further. This is because the Singapore company announced a new acquisition for its fleet, the tanker Eagle Cambe, which will be chartered by the Brazilian state-owned company for operations across the entire fuel production chain in Brazilian reserves.

The tanker Eagle Cambe is a Suezmax type vessel and was built by Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI), in addition to having a second-generation dynamic positioning (DP2) system to ensure even greater operational quality for the Brazilian state-owned company.

The Singapore company has signed a contract with the Brazilian state-owned company for the supply of three DP2 Suezmax vessels and this is the second tanker delivered to the company. This is because the first unit, Eagle Colatina, was added to AET’s fleet in March of this year and the company is now awaiting the third unit to finalize the agreement.

With the arrival of the tanker Eagle Cambe, AET announced that it has increased its fleet of vessels of this type to 16 units, aiming to further expand this number over the coming years. Petrobras highlighted that the arrival of Eagle Cambe to join Eagle Colatina will be essential to ensure the highest quality operations in the Brazilian basins and, in addition to the tankers, the company operates six other DPSTs for the state-owned company’s activities in the country.

AET Celebrates Arrival of Tanker Eagle Cambe to Its Fleet and Partnership with the State-Owned Company for the Supply of Vessels for the Brazilian Oil and Gas Sector

The Singapore shipping company is increasingly advancing its partnerships around the world and, regarding the new addition to its fleet, AET thanked “AET and Eaglestar colleagues, as well as SHI, Petrobras, DNV, and all suppliers and partners involved in the safe construction and delivery of the Eagle Cambe, as we continue to contribute to a more sustainable shipping for the ecosystem.”

In addition to the contract with Petrobras for the supply of tankers, AET is also expanding its presence in the national market and has had a partnership with Shell since the beginning of the year.

Thus, the Asian player received the third and final DP2 tanker for chartering with Shell last month. The two sister vessels of Eagle Colombo – Eagle Campos and Eagle Canoas – were delivered to AET in January and March 2022, respectively.

This is yet another business strategy from AET for the Brazilian market, which now has even more vessels from the Singapore company’s fleet for activities in the oil and gas sector following contracts with Shell and Petrobras, both of which are strongly benefited by the high technology of the company’s tankers.
