Aker Solutions has been awarded a five-year contract to provide brownfield modifications, maintenance and operations support for BP's Greater Plutonio and PSVM fields offshore Angola.

Aker Solutions' scope of work encompasses the provision of engineering, procurement and construction services for brownfield projects on the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels located in each field. This includes support for upgrades to process, chemical and marine support systems, as well as retrofitting old pipelines and equipment.

“We are delighted to support BP in Angola, an important market for Aker Solutions,” commented Luis Araujo, CEO of Aker Solutions. “We have a strong track record of successful delivery in Angola, having provided subsea support to key projects such as Dalia and Kaombo.

We are now pleased to expand that offering to include maintenance services, modifications and topside operations in West Africa.”

This new contract will benefit from an extensive on-site training program that Aker Solutions has been conducting, building strong in-country engineering competence for subsea lifecycle services and topside maintenance, modifications and operations.

This ongoing commitment will help secure vital skills for the future of Angola's energy sector. Aker Solutions has been working in Angola since 1998 and currently has over 270 employees in Luanda. The order will be booked in the third quarter of 2018.
