Energy Product Line, Launched This Week, Ensures Energy Efficiency Through Reduction in Consumption and Lower Emission of Pollutants; New Fuels Include a Package of Additives That Maintain Engine Cleanliness and Combustion Nanocatalysts in the Composition

The fuel distributor ALE launched, this week, the Energy fuels, a category of more efficient and sustainable products. Characterized as “energy transition fuel,” the new line —composed of gasoline, ethanol, diesel S10, and diesel S500— underwent research and testing over the past three years before its launch. The results show a consumption saving of at least 7% —confirmed and certified by agencies linked to the United Nations (UN)— as well as a reduction in pollutant emissions by an average of 30% compared to currently available products in the Brazilian market.

The new fuels developed by ALE contain a high-performance combustion catalyst in their formulation, based on liquid nanotechnology, and additives that maintain engine cleanliness and purify deposits in the vehicle’s injection system. To confirm efficiency, the products underwent various tests and received certifications from Unitar (United Nations Institute for Training and Research) and Cifal Argentina, one of the international centers that make up the Global Network of Unitar.

The expectation is that the Energy line will be available at ALE network gas stations by the end of the year. “The Energy family comes to market to offer technology that provides energy efficiency through the reduction in fuel consumption and pollutant emissions in the environment. In addition to the ALE quality seal, the products feature an innovative formula capable of promoting injector system cleanliness, generating consumption savings, and reducing pollutant gas emissions,” explains Diego Pires, Marketing and Retail Director at ALE.

Tests Confirm Energy Fuels’ Efficiency in Brazil
The new line also underwent tests conducted by the technical team of the Mobility Technology Center, which is part of the Mechanical Engineering department at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), where efficiency, consumption reduction, and pollutant emission reduction results were confirmed through numerous theoretical and practical tests.

“To verify the energy efficiency of Energy fuels, we followed the standard protocol. We used a methodology for measuring fuel consumption in vehicles, in which we selected a track for controlled driving. We had the vehicles driving simultaneously, following a cycle with well-defined gear changes, speed, and braking to achieve what we call repeatability of the test,” explains Fabrício Pujatti, PhD professor of the Mechanical Engineering department at UFMG. The tests were conducted with 10 ride-hailing drivers in passenger vehicles manufactured in Brazil, who drove on a racetrack for three days, equipped with technical apparatus to analyze fuel consumption per kilometer traveled. “After that, they drove on the streets of Belo Horizonte and the metropolitan area for about 10 days, averaging 250 kilometers per day. We evaluated engine performance with conventional fuels and then with Energy fuel,” highlights Pujatti. Energy efficiency tests were also conducted on five transport vehicles (trucks and buses) operating with diesel S10 Energy fuel.

According to the Retail Operations executive at ALE, Frederico Amorim, the nanocatalyst used by ALE allows for a cleaner and more complete burn. The Energy fuel also includes a package of additives with detergent action, which has the potential to preserve and improve the drivability of the vehicle —enhancing start-up behavior and steering, while also improving the driver’s experience (including noise reduction). “ALE’s intention was to bring something new and look in the global market for someone developing a product to take a step beyond what already existed. We were looking for something that would bring innovation to the segment, and that’s what we found: a product that combines energy gain with efficiency,” he adds.

“The catalyst provides two basic benefits: it improves the combustion process, resulting in better energy efficiency, and reduces pollutant emissions,” explains Wilson Romão Júnior, director of Horeb Brasil, the company responsible for developing the catalyst for the Energy line.

Sustainability

Another highlight of the new Energy category is the reduction of pollutant emissions, which are primarily responsible for global warming. Tests confirmed that 5 cubic meters of fuel from the new line can prevent the emission of 1 ton of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which is equivalent to the compensation of 1 carbon credit.

“Energy is aligned with decarbonization purposes, contributing to environmental preservation. The new line reaffirms the company’s commitment, which was a pioneer in the commercialization of biodiesel in the country, to sustainability. This pillar is fundamental and has guided ALE’s performance in the market,” states Diego Pires.

About ALE

ALE, founded in 1996, is the fourth largest fuel distributor in the country, with a network of approximately 1,400 gas stations and 9,000 active customers in 21 states and the Federal District. The company generates around 12,000 direct and indirect jobs.
For resellers, the company provides differentiators, such as the ALE Club and Livelo (relationship and rewards), a partnership with Moove for the supply of Mobil brand lubricants, the ALE Corporate Academy (training and capacity building), the “Ligados na Qualidade” program (fuel certification), ALE Express Automotive Service units, and the convenience stores Entreposto (EP) and A Esquina.
