Company Working on UPGN in Partnership with Chinese Kerui, Metodo Potencial Now Seeks New Partners to Operate in New Market Niche

Petrobras’ Announcement to Decommission Ten Oil Platforms by 2023 Caught the Attention of Metodo Potencial Engenharia, the Company Holding a Project at Comperj in Partnership with Chinese Kerui.
Metodo Potencial Engenharia, Eyeing this New Business Opportunity that Will Arise in the Market After Petrobras Revealed Its Intentions and Captured the Spotlight on This Type of Contract.

Focusing on this New Market Niche, the Budget and Proposal Manager at Metodo Potencial, Edson Siqueira, Declared that the Company Has Been Searching the International Market for Companies with Experience in This Segment.
The Company’s Goal is to Establish Partnerships, and According to the Manager of Metodo Potencial, “After Much Prospecting, We Found Two Companies on the US Coast that Are Already Performing Decommissioning in Shallow Waters Within the Continental Shelf – Shore Logistics and Mars.”

The Other Company Reached Out to for Support Was Triunfo Logística, and the Next Step of the Partnership is to Secure the First Contract with Petrobras This Second Semester or Early Next Year to Enable the Existence of the New Company.

The Partnership Established by Metodo Potencial Engenharia is Eyeing Petrobras’ Decommissioning Schedule, with Foreign Companies Joining the Consortium in Case of Winning Any Bidding.
In the Bid to Decommission the Fixed Platforms, the Company Came in Third Place, and the Bid Was Won by EPIC. The Result is Still Under Assessment by Petrobras.

New Technologies

According to the Manager of Metodo Potencial, Foreign Companies Will Bring Their Most Advanced Decommissioning Technologies for Offshore Platforms.
One of Them is a Robot Monitoring System, Which Films in Deep Waters, in Addition to the Jacket Cutting System in Deep Waters that Will Be Brought from the United States.

Metodo Potencial Also Intends to Use a Super Crane (Brought from Abroad) to Complete the Removal of the Platform and Dismantle the Structure on Land, Dividing the Whole Project into 3 Parts.
The New Technology Will Optimize the Time of “In Loco” Activities, and the Role of the Company Will Be to Manage the Project, Conducting Planning and De-energizing Equipment Onboard, as Well as Rigging Studies.
