The French multinational Alstom announced this Tuesday (10/05), an expansion in operations at the Taubaté factory, in the interior of the state of São Paulo. The company will invest R$ 80 million to meet the manufacturing of trains in international projects. About 750 new jobs will be created with Alstom’s expansion plan. Production Expansion At The Factory In The Interior Of São Paulo
To accommodate new projects, Alstom is investing around €14 million (R$ 80 million) in modernizations and adaptations of its factory, aiming to start producing the new projects from 2022. New structures are being erected at the company’s production complex in Taubaté, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, expected to start operating in early next year.
To meet the manufacturing of trains in international projects and also for Line 6 of the metro in São Paulo, 500 new jobs will be generated starting next year until the end of 2023 in Taubaté. Subsequently, an additional 200 opportunities are expected to open for operations at the factory in the interior of São Paulo and another 50 in São Paulo.

Training For Job Candidates
To train future professionals who will work on the production of over 130 trains, including more than 750 cars, Alstom signed a partnership with Senai Taubaté. The announcement was made on the morning of this Tuesday (5), at the Taubaté factory in the presence of the governor of São Paulo, João Doria, and the Secretary of Metropolitan Transportation, Alexandre Baldy, as well as the president of Senai Taubaté, Fernando Gonçalves.
The new jobs at the factory in the interior of the state of São Paulo will serve to meet contracts for the Line 6-Orange of the São Paulo metro and for Lines 8-Diamond and 9-Emerald of the São Paulo Metropolitan Train System. In addition to these two national projects, Alstom will also manufacture at the Taubaté unit, trains for the second phase of the Circular Line and for the extension of Line 7 of the Taipei Metro in Taiwan, as well as the new M5 line of the Bucharest Metro in Romania.
According to the company, 600 professionals will be trained by Senai Taubaté starting in January 2022. Of the trained professionals, about 500 will be hired gradually until January 2023 by Alstom or partner companies to work on the projects. The remainder may be hired later, by the company itself or by any other company in the region. Among the main job vacancies available at Alstom Taubaté are: assistants, operators, and assemblers.
