“The e-Consortium offers a complete and competitive solution for the adoption of Brazilian commercial electric fleets powered by solar energy. Companies that have investments in the logistics area play a fundamental role in the search for more profitable and sustainable assets, and energy flexibility is one of them”, says Ricardo Costa, President of GDSolar Holding.
The Volkswagen e-Delivery, a light urban truck powered by electricity, is now offered with an unprecedented service of consultancy and services that form a complete ecosystem of electric mobility. One hundred percent developed, tested and manufactured in Brazil, the e-Delivery models with 11 and 14 tons of total gross weight are the result of R$ 150 million in investments, the equivalent of more than 400 thousand kilometers of tests and the full dedication of a team made up of 150 Brazilian engineers and technicians.

e-Consortium developed by Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, together with Bosch, ABB and Siemens, will enable the commercial fleets of the giants Ambev, Coca-Cola FEMSA Brasil and JBS
In addition to supplying Volkswagen electric trucks, the e-Consórcio will provide consultancy with specialized teams to guide logistics and transport companies on the best solutions for their fleet. The objective of the members is to enable the financial balance of the electric mobility of commercial fleets in the country. Ambev, Coca-Cola FEMSA Brasil and JBS are the first to acquire Volkswagen electric trucks.
“As a participant in the supply of photovoltaic energy, GDSolar developed, together with Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus, a solution that reduces investments in the area of supplying solar energy to recharge trucks. With this, we close a virtuous cycle for the operation of the e-Consortium and contribute even more to adding value for customers”, adds Costa.
e-Consortium of global giants WV, Bosch, ABB and Siemens follows the modular consortium model, which will facilitate access to electric technology in commercial vehicles
Created in 2019, the e-Consortium follows the modular consortium model, which will facilitate access to electric technology in commercial vehicles. The system foresees everything from assembling the trucks to the infrastructure for charging and managing the lifecycle of the fleet's batteries, including their disposal.
“Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus is always looking for innovation. 25 years ago, our challenge was to manufacture our products and when we developed the Modular Consortium's production process we were sure it would be revolutionary. Today, with electric mobility, our challenge was to develop not only the electric product, but also all the conditions to support our customers in this change of product concept. We crowned this trajectory with yet another pioneering feat: the concern not only with the manufacture of electric vehicles, but with the creation of a suitable product for our customers, from acquisition, during use and charging and also in its disposal. Together with strong partners in our e-Consortium, we will move forward together in making electric mobility viable in Brazil”, says Walter Pellizzari, Corporate Strategy manager at Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus.
