“The e-Consortium offers a complete and competitive solution for the adoption of Brazilian electric commercial fleets powered by solar energy. Companies with investments in the logistics area play a fundamental role in the search for more profitable and sustainable assets, and energy flexibility is one of them,” says Ricardo Costa, President of GDSolar Holding.
The Volkswagen e-Delivery, a light urban truck powered by electricity, is now offered with a unique consulting and service package that forms a complete ecosystem of electric mobility. Fully developed, tested, and manufactured in Brazil, the e-Delivery models with 11 and 14 tons of gross vehicle weight are the result of R$ 150 million in investments, equivalent to over 400,000 kilometers of testing and the full dedication of a team of 150 Brazilian engineers and technicians.

e-Consortium Developed by Volkswagen Trucks and Buses, Together with Bosch, ABB, and Siemens, Will Enable Commercial Fleets of Giants Ambev, Coca-Cola FEMSA Brazil, and JBS
In addition to providing Volkswagen electric trucks, the e-Consortium will offer consulting with specialized teams to guide logistics and transportation companies on the best solutions for their fleets. The aim of the members is to enable the financial balance of electric mobility for commercial fleets in the country. Ambev, Coca-Cola FEMSA Brazil, and JBS are the first to acquire Volkswagen’s electric trucks.
“As a participant in the supply of photovoltaic energy, GDSolar has developed together with Volkswagen Trucks and Buses a solution that reduces investments in solar energy supply for truck recharging. This closes a virtuous cycle for the operation of the e-Consortium and contributes even more to adding value for customers,” adds Costa.
e-Consortium of Global Giants WV, Bosch, ABB, and Siemens Follows the Modular Consortium Model, Which Will Facilitate Access to Electric Technology in Commercial Vehicles
Created in 2019, the e-Consortium follows the modular consortium model, which will facilitate access to electric technology in commercial vehicles. The system includes everything from truck assembly to recharging infrastructure and lifecycle management of the fleet’s batteries, including their disposal.
“Volkswagen Trucks and Buses is always in pursuit of innovations. For 25 years, our challenge was the manufacturing of our products, and when we developed the production process of the Modular Consortium, we were certain it would be revolutionary. Today, with electric mobility, our challenge was to develop not only the electric product but also all the conditions to support our customers in this product concept shift. We crown this journey with another pioneering achievement: the concern not only with the manufacture of electric vehicles but with creating a product suitable for our customers, from acquisition, during use and charging, and also at disposal. Alongside heavyweight partners in our e-Consortium, we will advance together in enabling electric mobility in Brazil,” says Walter Pellizzari, Corporate Strategy Manager of Volkswagen Trucks and Buses.
