The Sustainable Corridor Project of Ambipar Will Be Responsible for Replacing the Use of Non-Renewable Fuels with Sustainable Fuel in the Company’s Vehicle Fleet, Thus Contributing to Investment in the Energy Transition in Its Operations.
On last Monday (08/29), the logistics and services giant Ambipar announced its latest sustainability project, the Sustainable Corridor Project, for the use of sustainable fuel in the company’s vehicle fleet. In addition, an investment of R$ 30 million was announced for the replacement of fuel consumption, aiming to make the energy transition an increasingly closer reality for the company over the coming years.
Sustainable Corridor Project is Ambipar’s New Bet for the Energy Transition of Its Vehicle Fleet Over the Coming Years in the International Market
The energy transition scenario in the global market is increasingly drawing attention to the adoption of more sustainable practices, including the replacement of non-renewable fuels with sustainable fuel, such as CNG.
In this way, several companies with large vehicle fleets, like Ambipar, have been starting their sustainability and ESG practices projects over the past few months.
-
Brazil accelerates hydrogen and biofuel projects to consolidate the fuel of the future and reduce dependence on oil by 2026.
-
The Brazilian state accelerates industrial competitiveness with a focus on the extraction of strategic minerals to boost the energy transition in Goiás.
-
A Canadian retiree creates a hydroelectric system on a real river, generating energy continuously throughout the day and demonstrating how the power of water can supply a house with stability even in a simple structure.
-
CNPE strengthens policy and prevents imported biodiesel from being mixed with diesel, aiming to strengthen the Brazilian industry and protect jobs by reducing external dependence amid tensions in the global market.
The company then announced the Sustainable Corridor Project, which, according to Ambipar, is an important step in combating climate change and in fulfilling its decade-long ambition to lead the transition to a circular and low-carbon economy.
This initiative will kick off the company’s energy transition plan in its operations, and for this, the first step will be the large-scale inclusion of CNG-powered trucks. With this decision, the transportation of chemical products for Dow Chemical will be the first operation served by this idea.
Company Will Invest R$ 30 Million in the Energy Transition of Its Vehicle Fleet with the Use of Sustainable Fuel
The company Ambipar intends to make a total investment of R$ 30 million throughout the Sustainable Corridor Project to replace its fleet with vehicles using sustainable fuel over the coming years.
Furthermore, the trucks to be delivered will have technology for the use of compressed natural gas (CNG), being of the Scania R 410 6 × 2 model, thus ensuring even greater efficiency in the energy transition of fuel consumption in the vehicles.
Moreover, only during the first year of operation of the new trucks, Ambipar estimates a 20% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions in the Corridor, significantly contributing to the reduction of environmental impacts from its fleet with the million-dollar investment. In addition, the company announced that the goal is for 100% of Ambipar’s fleet to consist of vehicles with a cleaner energy matrix by 2040, according to Hélio José Branco Matias, Director at the company.
The company’s move will also be essential to regain the growth of its shares in the global financial market, as, over the past 365 days, Ambipar’s shares have fallen by 55.7%. Now, projections show a growth of 1096.27% over the next 12 months, thus recovering the drop from last year.
